Kind of on the lines of "Fear the Deer".
Might not convey the right tone though.... |

He and LeBron should show up on Kawhi's doorstep. |
They could call him today if they wanted. Players aren't as restricted by tampering rules as teams as long as their discrete about it. It wouldn't surprise me if there are conversations between Lebron, AD and potential teammates already going on. I'm sure AD would like to know if it's worth giving up that trade kicker before he has to make a decision. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

Do you guys think he's the best teammate LeBron has ever had? I feel Wade was not as good a fit as AD. LeBron is aging, so AD can cover mistakes on defense. Also, there are endless PnR possibilities with, basically, a way better Gasol for LeBron to work with, and LeBron will find AD effortlessly for lobs and catch-and-shoot jumpers. If AD gets doubled in the paint, here comes LeBron to throw down the lob or get the offensive rebound. |

DWade was legit. But without the whistle, he's still mortal.
But since whistles exist, I'd say DWade is the best player Lebron played with.
Until Kawhi comes, then Kawhi will be the best player Lebron has ever played with. |

I just want to go back to this notion that AD can't lead his team to the playoffs. Therefore he doesn't "impact" the game.
I know some people are using this as a knock against him, but if you look at things reasonably, I'm not sure how anyone can blame him. Basketball is obviously a team orientated game and look at the talent the Pelicans have surrounded him with all these years. If you take into account AD plays in the west, which has been absolutely stacked with strong teams, you can't fault the guy for not single handily carrying his team to the playoffs every year. Once he is in the tournament though, he has been dominant.
I'm sure the narrative would be much different if AD was playing in the East. He definitely would have had more postseason success. It's just a matter of geography.
Keep in mind we have an all time great on our roster in Lebron James, and even he couldn't lead our team to the playoffs in the west last season. |

Not with all the injures that we have last year. Hopefully we have a healthy team next year. Sky is the limit. |

1) Lakers draft Darius Garland at #4 on Thursday(Rich Paul client)

I suppose this is contingent on them wanting Garland, but they cannot back out of the trade now? |
They can back out of the trade. It’s a trade in principal only. |

If NOP off loads the 4th pick to a third team, we should give that third team an incentive like 2nd rounder or cash so that they delay it until July 30th. I think receiving a free asset just to wait 3-4 weeks is worth it for that third team, especially if it's ATL. |

Either team can back out of a trade up to the time it's submitted to the league office for approval. |

Maybe best case scenario on draft night is Garland at 4, New Orleans trading it for an established player that takes up most, if not all, of their cap space (Lavine, Gordon, etc...), and Rich Paul signing that contract on draft night.
Then, the pick can’t be traded until 7/20, and New Orleans has already used up their cap space, so no incentive for them to push for the deal now (I.e. the extra 4 mil that’s been talked about would already have been accounted for anyway). |

i'm petty AF but i'd love to 'basketball reasons' New Orleans and threaten to back out just so they know how it feels |

Darius Garland will conduct a last-minute workout in Tarrytown with the New York Knicks tomorrow, a source told ESPN. Garland is in serious consideration for the No. 3 pick. Minnesota, Boston, Chicago are teams looking at potentially trading up to No. 4 with Garland in mind. |
Wow, if Knicks take DG.
Lakers lucked out. They might have been bamboozled into taking RJ. |

I think with all the pooping on his game, he is starting to get underrated. |
The only question about him and Lebron are health. And since he’s on a one year contract, it’s especially essential for Rob to build a team around him that can survive and at least tread water in the event that he and/or Lebron go down for a couple of weeks or more during the season. I don’t want him looking around and wondering what’s left for him if Lebron’s durability/dominance come into question because of his age and miles going into FA next summer. |
Yup. The talent is not questionable to me.
But, LBJ also has 2 guaranteed years (3rd year is player option).
I think AD sees the chance to be the future face of the Lakers, and honestly, he is a co-face right now. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Wade was amazing. But I think AD is really an amazing fit with LBJ. The Wade/LBJ pairing was at times very awkward, but that's b/c you have two in-prime ball handlers that were used to running the offense. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It’s going to be special!!!! Run pick and rolls all day with LBJ and AD with Shooters in motion! Finally have a chance to have an offense that can slow down and execute when it mattters, end of game, playoff situations

Really looking forward to it. My biggest worry now would be injury. Since we have zero depth, any prolonged injury to our two stars could hinder our ability to achieve the ultimate prize. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

Lakers are trying to expand Anthony Davis trade and create ability to open max salary slot on July 6, sources tell @BobbyMarks42 and me. Lakers offering contracts of Mo Wagner/Jemerrio Jones/Isaac Bonga to additional teams, so LA can satisfy CBA rules on creating $32M in space.

So people hoping Pelinka gave Griffin all those picks to have an agreement to close on the 30th, means he never had one. _________________ Tacos |
