Yes if Lebron opts out, takes less than max for a year for Bird Rights, after which he signs a Kobe-like contract to end his career in LA. If Giannis is on-board with signing and that plan, it will happen. It's just a lot to of if's.

That would just be unfair for the league.

Alex
THT
Kuz
Giannis
AD

With Lebron off the bench.

Jokes aside, it would be an all-time-great experiment. Bigger, better, faster, stronger without great shooting.

Lebron
3nD
Giannis
AD
Spacer 5

Lebron and Giannis probably need to be staggered a ton. He probably goes to the bench early and they run

Giannis
3nD
3nD
3nD
AD

Could you imagine the defense? The length on that team?

You could run Lebron-Giannis PnR and Giannis becomes the short roller. AD as the lob threat, 2 shooters waiting in the wings. Incredible. If you switch, you're completely (bleep).

One can make up anything on paper, there is no reason to think that it might actually happen. Lebron, like Chris Paul, has his service as a player representative to consider. Showing that it is ok to award ownership charity is frowned upon by the union. Plus the over 38 rule would put the Lakers in a salary cap he’ll like they’ve never seen.

I don't think Lebron is going to stop basketball heaven if Giannis wants to join for one year of mildly disappointing the union. We also don't know what 2021 Lebron might be. He might be ring-chaser level by that point, which would make it even more justifiable. Plus, Lebron hasn't been part of the Union leadership for a while now. I frankly don't give a (bleep) what the politician Chris Paul does, hope he retires ringless with his favoritism.

I moreso doubt Giannis would want to help an aging Lebron win even more.

If I were the Lakers, I'd go into the 9th circle of hell for a Giannis + AD pairing in their primes. And you know they're going to try like hell to make this a reality because all of the contracts expire in 2021.

The other player I'd go after if Giannis is a no-go is Dipo.

I think there are a few reasons why Giannis would not come here in 2021. For one I think there is a very strong chance that the Lakers win a ring this season or next with a very real chance for back to back rings (I know I know) so I cannot see Giannis joining LA for that reason. It would be the equivalent of KD joining GS and he would get blasted for it and get no credit for it. Also I think this will be compounded because LA would have most likely beat Giannis in this scenario, which would make the move even more Durant like by joining the team that beat him. Maybe he pulls a KD

If the Bucks make the finals this year, as long as the Bucks show Giannis the game plan and Giannis is down with the roster makeup, I dont see him leaving the great city of Milwaukee either.

I think you’re right. Giannis doesn’t even work out with other players because he wants to do it on his own.

As I said with Kawhi in the offseason, he didn’t want to join Lebron, he wants to beat Lebron.

This seems even more deluded than the Kawhi wishful thinking. Giannas is about to repeat as an MVP, he's gonna come be LeBron and AD's third banana? What if we win a title before then? He'll get all the same (bleep) Durant did. Does nothing for him.

Everything else aside, Giannis just doesn't strike me as an LA kinda guy. I'd bet he doesn't even have a summer house out here. Seems like he's destined to retire in Milwaukee or head to Toronto with Masai.

I like how the Bucks signed Giannis' brother.
But I also like how the Lakers got his other brother.

The Freak will likely stay where he is. Too much pride on the table.
Why come here to be what? third guy?
He is better than Lebron on both ends.
He is par with AD on defensive end but better at offensive end.
Both he and AD can chase and block from behind in a splash.
If he is to come here, it should be arranged that he eats first.

Stop using logic!
My initial "brother" post was tongue in cheek. I'm giving VCF the benefit of the doubt and assuming his was tongue in cheek as well.

Half court game, low post, go-to moves.... It needs work. That's why he isn't already champion. I was pulling for him, and it was reminiscent of pulling for Shaq. Brogdan was his Kobe, but unfortunately he ain't Kobe and they lost. Crunch time offense was all wings cause Freak was limited. He's like Shawn Kemp with handles. No real post game.
