I actually saw some people before the game claiming Jokic was a better player than Davis

Imagine if Lebron was younger - this duo would be terrifying. AD is just ridiculous, guy can be the best player in the league and is well on his way!

Yeah man, I seen quite a few people saying that. Makes me wonder if they even seen the regular season when AD consistently outplayed him by a mile as well. The media did do an incredible job hyping him up though which he deserved to a point but in no way should he be confused for being at the same level of an elite athlete like AD.

AD can win a lot of championships here it’s all gonna depend on if we can get a stud next to him, if we do it’s game over.

One of the best visuals from tonight re: Joker and AD.
Around the 6 minute mark or so in the 1st quarter, AD is at the free throw line. They show Joker lining up to rebound and he's in a full sweat. They cut back to AD about to shoot the FT, and his face is smooth and dry.

Not that sweat means you're tired. But I just loved that visual.

How would AD actually consider leaving? Best NBA franchise, largest fan base, most desirable place to live, huge market for business opportunities, Lebron and Klutch calling the shots, ties to Kobe, ability to get paid the most, and winning a ring.

AD wanted to be here and it's gone better than he could have imagined

Davis is averaging

28-11-4-1-1 while only playing 34 minutes in the playoffs. Is that good?

Well that escalated quickly on Twitter.
All I want to know is, what was her though process?
She tweeted that it was a mistake, but what does that mean? You just forgot?

Now we got Playoff Faigen @hmfaigen getting in trouble and having to delete tweets. Doug Gottleb saying crazy things. And Jemele Hill being Jemele Hill. What a world we live in.

The only explanation in not voting AD to the All-NBA teams is β€œBrain Fart”.

This is why media should never be allowed to vote for these awards maybe HOF inductions perhaps but that's it. The in season awards voting should be reserved for folks who actually understand the game like players, coaches and execs.

You aren’t gonna get objective voting from media members...period. Look at how many times Kobe was robbed from getting MVP.

I dont know. How many HOF players actually watch enough games anyway. Sadly, there will never be a perfect way. It's just that hopefully people who vote, can simply justify why they voted a certain way. I'd be OK with that.

Agree. Here is another one:

nick wright
@getnickwright

One particular NBA award voter who...
Had Luka & Drummond 1st Team All D. Kristaps, Russ & Whiteside on his 2nd Team All D.
His DPOY ballot had Drummond 1st & Whiteside 2nd.
He also had Ingram, Drummond & Trae 2nd team All NBA.

He clearly doesn’t watch the league he votes on.

Yeah, and on top of that the media has only gotten grossly worse as far as favoritism or pre-determined selections go imo. It's a s**t show with nearly any big sports show today, it's all about clicks and ratings. Having the good cop and bad cop to escalate things which is all clearly staged and very rarely has any actual analysis or real information provided. Half the time they talk about the peoples personal lives just as much as there on field/on court actions.

One of my biggest gripes with the media having so much control over the voting as well is that many not only do not watch a huge percentage of games but they're also considered "experts" on several different sports so they have to watch a minimal amount of games across many different sports on top of doing these shows and living there life. There's just simply not enough time to have any real professional opinion when you got that much on your plate and it shows mightily when you hear half the things they say and cant even name half the players that arent super stars on teams.

I always thought it would be cool if they had different analysts that covered different divisions and each person would mostly focus on there designated division and then try to watch some other games when they have time throughout the season. That wont ever happen but it would at least provide more talking points and discussions that make sense and doesnt require 75% of randomly madeup filler.

My all defensive 1st team would be
Holiday, Butler, Brow, Greek Freak, and that robot on the Clippers

Gobert would be on my 2nd team. And Smart is a vote I would laugh at. Same goes for Pat Beverley.

it's so good, that it's a shame the media isn't talking more about his performance in the Playoffs so far.

Davis in the Playoffs
28.5 PPG
10.8 REB
4.1 AST
1.4 BLK
1.0 STL
58.4% Field Goal
38.5% from Three

LeBron in the Playoffs
25.5 PPG
9.9 REB
9.1 AST
1.0 BLK
1.5 STL
55.2% Field Goal
35.9% from Three

Both have been playing very well in the Playoffs. ESPN keeps the discussion around LeBron and whether or not he deserved MVP over Giannis given his performance in the Playoffs, but Davis has been putting up numbers you could make a case for as well. He definitely deserves credit for stepping up the way he has.

If we include the season numbers

Davis in the Season
26.1 PPG
9.3 REB
3.2 AST
2.3 BLK
1.5 STL
58.4% Field Goal
38.5% from Three
Arguably DPOY

LeBron in the Season
25.3 PPG
7.8 REB
10.2 AST
0.5 BLK
1.2 STL
49.3% Field Goal
34.8% from Three

Very much so, Giannis put up 29/13/5 on 55% from the Field and 30% from three and thatis considered an MVP caliber year.

Davis is putting up 28/11/4 on 58% from the field and 38% from three in the playoffs. He should really be getting talked about more. I've always been very critical of Davis, but he's truly shined and stepped up these Playoffs. The numbers he's putting up are MVP worthy, and at the very least conversation worthy.

^Whoever that has should have their vote taken away.

Not as punishment, but just that a lot of money and prestige is riding on these selections and if you are too busy or distracted to vote competently, you should cede your spot for someone more attuned to what is going on in the sport.
