I'm not fretting over AD's signing. I would be shocked if he doesn't resign. He won a ship and with the FO's new acquisitions a repeat is very doable. He knows he's in line to be the team's leader when Bron hangs up his Nikes.

TBH I don't know if AD has what it takes to be that. He doesn't seem to have the temperament it takes. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to a great season and another Larry O'Brien at staples.

AD doesn't have that fire and temperament to be the alpha 1A type of player. this is why i want lakers to get Damian Lillard any way they can for the post LeBron years to pair up with AD.

Damian is 30 years old and is under contract for four more years plus a player option for a 5th. Lakers don't have the picks/assets to make this happen. Damian ridicules Paul George for switching teams. Damian is a Blazers lifer.

Lakers need to zoom in on a star that is 27 years old or younger. Preferably snatchable in free agency. Like Beal.

Why does it have to be a star? We're ego laden. I'd like to see a Rondo type player. Can't think of one off the top of my head.

I am sure AD, Pelinka, Bron, etc are using this time to speak to plan things out and speak to other stars to line things up.

This is basically about who does AD want to play with next.

I think it's likely going to be a 1+1. That will put him in sync with LeBron.

I'm not stressed about this either -- but at some point his "deadline" is soon, right? Like, stuff is starting and *technically* he's a UFA.

This is some Colin Coward ass take right here. Considering it’s a near copy paste one from him right before Game 2 in the WCF.

And then he does this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eJOkrA3VB7c

GTHO with that crap ass take.

Perhaps AD is feeling generous and taking our last vet minimum slot?

Yeah, agree completely. He probably won't be a Lebron or Kobe like leader but that doesn't mean he still can't be a damn good one and he's just barely entering his prime and learning what it's like and what it takes to be a Champion. The experience of the last year and the next couple is what is going to mold him into the future leader we'll see once Lebron is either gone or starts taking a smaller role.

I haven't seen them on the floor yet but I think you could probably build a contender around AD Montrez and DS

Yeah, just throw some shooters and defensive guys in there with those 3 and they def. wouldn't be a fun team to play for sure. The improved speed and nonstop motors of those two guys with AD would/is going to wreck havoc. The crazy thing with this off season is people just kind of assume AD is who he is but I think he will continue to expand his game through his prime as well which is a scary thought for the rest of the NBA haha.

So um...it's Tuesday. Have AD and Rich Paul met with the Lakers yet? Done deal? What's up? Training camp starts in two days. Why is it so hard to give hundreds of millions of dollars to someone?

Clearly waiting to see what Giannis does IMO.. which is a really good sign for us and his main objective as a Laker - to win.

Giannis doesn't have to hurry, though. AD has to sign or won't be able to participate in training camp

I wonder if AD will now sign a 5-year max contract now that Lebron signed a 2-year extension.

Confused about the terms for Lebron. He had a player option for next season, not this one starting on the 22.

So is it 4 more years of lebron including this one starting on 22. Or 3 more years since he is opting out of next year and just signing two year ext.

I'm thinking 2+1 now to align with LeBron's contract.
