I would too if for no other reason than we can pay him the most. I always assumed that he would stay where he was traded to.

Well it's a good thing we made sure the Pels didn't hand him over to Boston then.

Boston wouldn’t give NO what they wanted

AD left the supermax on the table to get out of NO and play on the Lakers, not to mention waving his trade bonus to help Pelinka build the team. He's spoken endlessly about how he wants to win and cares more about legacy than dollars, and he's putting his money where his mouth is.

He wants his jersey next to the Laker greats and be invited to show up at NBA games until he dies. That is legacy!

Also, there seems to be an agenda on LG to not get AD to stay: gripes about not playing center; too fragile; better team without AD; should’ve kept BI/Zo instead; and never won anything. AD is awesome and Lakers are damn lucky to have him.

Seems like a massive mistake now, even if keeping Davis would have been a challenge. Even the Memphis pick is devaluing with them making a run for a playoff spot. Lots of salary on the books for non superstars up there in Boston.

I know this won't be a popular take, but really disappointed in AD for going to the Green Bay game.

He should be in LA resting and getting treatment for our game tomorrow. Flying across country unnecessarily also can take a toll on the body.

Eh, he should be free to enjoy playoff games in person if he feels like it

He's safer in Green Bay watching a football game than back here in LA partying hard with some Hollywood types.

Not good enough to take the Bucks though.

Here is hoping he sees a Seahawk victory

I'm thinking AD is pretty happy right now

Spurs

Although that didn't require much thought from Pops. He just employed the same tactic he used against Lebron in 14

It would be one thing if he was healthy or if the game was say LA or even just an hour flight away.

He is not and it is not.

So yes he is feee to do what he wants, but it isn’t good look for a player of his stature to not being doing everything he can to get back on the court ASAP.

I could never imagine Kobe doing this.

AD took a very comfy private jet... it's not that taxing.

Vogel probably told him he won't be playing tomorrow.

BTW - AD isn’t the only Laker at the game. I wouldn’t be shocked if we come out flat tomorrow.

I'm more than sure these professional athletes (who own a 32-7 record) can hang out at a football game and be ready to play over 24 hours later. Especially since they've been pouncing on the bad teams as soon as the ball goes up.

Can't wait to see AD get his heart broken next week : 3

That out of the way I think it's good he's enjoying life and watching his favorite team get a win the week before they get wrecked by SF. Like others said he will be on a private jet where he can sleep and rest anyways.

LMAO I was going to say the same thing...

I thought he'd be a Bears fan.

Now Chicago disowned him..

Makes sense.
They have the easiest SOS. Tied for 29th. We'll have to see if they keep up the winning when/if the schedule levels out.

News/sports websites are garbage - because AD is cheering for the Packers (a team he's been a fan of for years), that means he wants to go to the Bucks - Genius.
