I think all the haters should say thank you for her results. As a life long fan this is a glorious weekend! Not 1 but 2 all NBA players plus cap space for another max!

I’m not thanking Jeanie for crap. If anything we should thank the rambii lol.

I’ve seen this team fail enough recently to not trust them until I see the old Larry O’ hoisted once again in the halls of Staples

If it was up to her, Magic would still be running things in BBOP.

Remember the praise Jim Buss got after landing Nash/Dwight?

Remember the praise Magic Johnson got after landing Lebron?

We all saw how that turned out a year later .

Let's wait until we have a championship before we truly give Jeanie thanks.

And a big thank you to Dell Demps.

Quote:
Ramona Shelburne

@ramonashelburne
Everyone got hurt when the Lakers and Pelicans couldn’t get the AD trade done in February. Demps got fired. Magic quit. Luke left. It was bad business for everyone. Everybody just had to get over themselves and egos and make a deal.

He helped us get rid of Magic and Luke and we still got AD.

Or maybe should be thanking Adam Silver and the lottery gods.

The best living Buss is Jeanie!

Exactly. This is thanks to LeBron recruiting AD behind the scenes and RP scaring off the other bidders. The Celtics didn't put their best asset on the table.

Yet Lakers still had to sell the farm just like Magic did at the trade deadline. Now it's understandable that they had to overpay since Pelicans aren't obligated to work within the Lakers timeline for free agency, but let's not pretend this was some Gasol heist. They paid the expected premium to substantially increase their chances of forming a superteam with that third superstar free agent. A more than reasonable plan with the Warriors dead in the water next season.

Klutch would not be here had Jeanie not changed the tanking culture that had become the norm under Jim.

Not to say she will succeed, but she at least positioned the Lakers to get free agents and trades. We were not going anywhere with a young core that had zero superstar or HOF players. We are not the Sixers who have talent like Embiid and Simmons. We never had anyone of that level, the level where you could build a franchise around them.

Now we have 2, one being a short term guy (LBJ) and the other (AD) being the longterm guy. Say whatever you want about Jeanie's flaws, and she has many. On her watch within 2 years the Lakers have gone from one of the two worst teams in the league, to a serious contender next season.

Jeannie stuck it to the anti-Laker, Celtic loving media for sure and that was the most satisfying part.

The media frenzy declaring us the new Knicks after the circus to end the season seems so distant. If we win the title let them never forget.

It's looking like the lakers future is gone. I have to see the other acquisitions, but if Lakers don't land Kawhi, we are not in a good place for the future. They built a team around a 34 year old superstar and that isn't smart.

I get that Jeanie has been unfairly criticized, but aren't we supposed to thank people after winning the championship?

Supposedly Jeanie’s highschool-ness contributed to the haul being so large. She doesn’t know how to operate and make decisions like a professional owner

It would also be built around a 26 year old superstar....
