Well, I’d say minimum two years playing for the Lakers first.

The competition is Gasol, Odom, Campbell, Hairston.

2 chips and 3 finals appearances is the bar (Pau). I don't consider worthy a PF. If he wins a finals MVP he may not need to match Pau on chips and finals appearances though.

looks like he will definitely play most of his minutes as Center for the Lakers....and he will not be the best Center in Laker history.

He could, yes. But it would take at least 2 championships as the 2nd banana like Pau and all nba level play for 5+ years.

I think he's a center from now on in his career. i just don't think he has the same impact defensively if hes playing PF.

Highly doubtful he plays more center than PF. I think it'll be 60% PF and 40% center.

Since we're on the subject of all-time greats...

Would the Lakers be the only team that could put up a competitive team that was assembled from all time greats made up from every other team?

Lakers

C Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain
PF Anthony Davis, Pau Gasol, James Worthy
SF Lebron James, Elgin Baylor, Jamaal Wilkes
SG Kobe Bryant, Gail Goodrich
PG Magic Johnson, Jerry West

Everyone Else

C Bill Russell, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson
PF Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Moses Malone, Dirk Nowitzki
SF Larry Bird, Julius Erving, Kevin Durant
SG Michael Jordan, Dwyane Wade
PG Oscar Robertson, John Stockton, Steph Curry

No overlapping players, if they are eligible for the single team, they don't get to go to the "Everyone Else" team. Left off Karl Malone and Steve Nash since they are kinda in-between - played for the Lakers but at the very end of their careers.

Chips/Finals don't necessarily equate to a better player though.

More accomplished? Absolutely.

If going by chips/finals, Robert Horry is probably the best Laker PF of all-time.

Define "competitive" because the Celtics' history of players would field a great team:

Ray Allen
Garnett
Pierce
Bird
McHale
Parish
Rondo
Bill Russell
John Havlicek
Dave Cowens
Bob Cousy
Sam Jones
Nate Archibald
Danny Ainge
Reggie Lewis

According to LG, the All-Time PF list goes...

1. Randle

2. Duncan
3. Malone
4. Sir Charles
5. Petite
6. McHale
7. KG
8. Rodman
9. Davis

Yes they are definitely up there. Id like to see what the Warriors, 76ers, Bulls, Spurs, Knicks and Pistons could put out there as well. Probably really great 5-6 players but without that insane depth we or Boston have

Who is best PF of Lakers all time anyway? Worthy counts as PF? Gasol was great too so can Davis outclass them? He probably needs multiple rings and maybe regular season/finals MVP?

If Davis never wins a ring then no. Davis on name value will not be the best PF the Lakers have ever had all time.

Karl Malone will be.

If you put together the Lakers all-time list in their primes. I'm not picking Davis over Karl Malone.

It would be

Magic Johnson
Kobe Bryant
LeBron James
Karl Malone
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Also, some of ya'll need to stop disrespecting Pau and what he did for us. Just because Anthony Davis puts up flashy numbers doesn't mean he's going to be better all-time than Pau on the Lakers scale.

Pau as the 2nd option and PF for us and playing center when ours got injured helped us get to 3 Finals where we won 2 of them.

Till Davis does that, he shouldn't be in the conversation unless name value is all that's cared about.

And even then, if it was 'name value' alone, Karl Malone is ahead of Davis. As said above, if I was picking an all-time Lakers team in their primes, I'm not picking Davis ahead of Malone, no way no how.

And if we want to move onto "What they've accomplished as a Laker." then LeBron nor Davis are past Worthy or Pau.

Best in terms of talent, or best in terms of accomplishment? He is bar none the most talented PF to ever don the purple and gold. Will he be the most accomplished? That's TBD.

76ers and Knicks would have some insane depth too. Both of them would have two Hall of Famers at every position.
