Kid is a straight stud - I liked the low post move he showed in the first half

Crazy how many flashes he shows at his age

He tightens up that jumper and works on his off ball defensive awareness and you have a complete ball player.

This kid really gonna be a two time champion before he even scratches the surface of his full potential.

I will say, THT/KCP/Caruso played well together in the 3 guard lineups.

I think we say no to the Pelicans if they offered Zo for THT straight up, right? That makes me feel extra good about the trade. THT is the cherry on top of the "AD summer" cake.

Really like this kid. Do the Lakers have enough cap space to retain THT? Pity they wasted some on kuz

I'm starting to feel like, assuming THT continues to play well and improve his 3-point shooting and D, the Lakers should gradually reduce Caruso's playing time to give THT more playing time.

Caruso is nothing more than an energy guy who can handle the ball a little and hit some open 3s. THT has WAY more potential than Caruso, and he's also better than Caruso right now.

The Lakers can match any offer for THT if he got some crazy offer and they wanted to retain them. It would cost them in luxury tax though.

Look forward to seeing him break the single game steals record (which is 11)!

On a side note both Draymond and Lou have had a 10 steals game wow

THT needs minutes. Vogel just needs to say to Kuz, Wesley, and THT, hit your shots or we give your minutes to the next guy in your group. If Kuz isn't bringing it on D he’s out, THT too. Kuz usually needs 3 shots and you know if he has it or not. Wesley is either 3/3 or 0/3. THT same thing with his 3 point shot or rim drives. He’s either 3/3 or 0/3. Fairest way to give streaky shooters minutes until they get more consistent.

I realize that THT is a second year player and Anthony Edwards is a rookie, so it may be an unfair comparison. But THT is only 8 months older than Edwards.

So, can somebody please try to convince me that Edwards is better? I haven’t watched Edwards play much, but at least by their numbers it seems that THT has the clear advantage so far (albeit early in the season). Also, while THT is one inch shorter, he has a considerable advantage in wingspan and standing reach.

Ok Mike, NO don’t wanna pay Lonzo, Griffin calls and offer him for TNT straight up... what say you? (It’s a no for me, Lonzo better but older and lower ceiling, although Schroeder-AC-Lonzo-Bron-AD would be insane at the defensive end AND at the offensive end)

I will say, THT/KCP/Caruso played well together in the 3 guard lineups.

Vogel has always been a fan of smaller combo guards dating back to Indiana. Even last year, 3 guard lineups were what he often went with when he struggled in the playoffs - for example started Caruso-Green-KCP (3 guards basically) in a NBA Finals game.

Only now, we have more talented guards, like Dennis, THT, who are capable to do even more than just defend and shoot a 3. This is a really cool weapon the Lakers could exploit. A lot of teams double AD and Bron the minute either of them have the ball closer to the basket. When you have small guards cutting, spotting up, moving quick in your offense, opposing teams pay for those doubles more.

A lot of teams just fall in love with the 3 ball, but we with these 3 guard lineups give another dimension. We have the 3 ball, but we also cut, set screens for a cutter, and get open looks that way. Something a lot of teams do not do.

AD-Bron, and 3 guard lineups, will be the hardest thing to match up in the league with in the playoffs. The defensive activity rate, the offense movement and floor spacing .... I just do not see many teams having an easy time with that.

Lakers have a happy problem in their guards rotation

Speedy: Schroder
Engergy: Caruso
Strength: Matthews
Length: Kuzma
All around: Caruso
Shooting: Cook
And THT now

We say no on contract alone.

It's been Edwards' known weakness that his motor goes on/off and opts to settle for pull up jumpers.

Strength wise, Edwards is an elite athlete with the strength of a PF, and more range than THT. IQ/decision-making/motor was the issue, not physical talent.

No, because AC is a budget duplicate of Lonzo. The 2nd unit needs more of what THT does.

Lonzo can't defend 3s. Neither should AC. But this is also why I'm not a Schroder guy. I'd rather have Lonzo/Caruso/THT at that hypothetical "1" spot, next to KCP/Matthews and LeBron as the initiator anyway.

Mike, I think if Dennis plays like last night or the 2nd half of Bulls game, more often, he is basically Alex with more shotmaking skill. We also saw when Alex shares the backcourt with Dennis and same for THT, Dennis is handling the ball less and we are seeing more dual or trio guard use, which makes the offense so much more effective in some ways.

I think it is better to have players that are multiple threats vs singular specialists so long as they make good decisions with their skill. It is easier for a team to close out on a 3 point shooter who does nothing else, than a 3 point shooter who could cut drive pass set screesn etc.

What we have with our guards is more interesting as these guys do multiple things well, even if they do not do one particular thing on offense at an elite level.

The real issue will be come next summer how you afford to keep Alex, THT and Dennis all on the same team ... but lets not worry about that now.

The difference of their confidence levels is off the chart...

My idea/decision isn't based on shotmaking skill. It's based on what lineup optimizes the best +/- for the regular season into the playoffs. I find that a lot of people kind of ignore when Dennis gets switched onto a bigger player and gets scored on, because he's not really expected to make the play. Caruso gives more than a fighting chance, and at least flashes better corner 3-point shooting early on.

I agree about multiple threats and dual initiators. I just don't agree with the decision making of Dennis, whether it's inaccurate passing, being turnover prone, stopping the dribble early. These are not issues I have with Caruso. Caruso is more of a possession getter and makes them more efficient because he's not as TO prone, while on the flip side, DS plays like an undersized athletic wing that likes to get early offense and get early advantages. The later in the shot clock, the worse the shot creating is for DS.

You can have opponents attack Caruso and THT and still have a shot at getting a stop. I don't think that's as easily the case with Schroder.

It legit blows my mind to see DS have AD and Trez in the 2nd unit, and not break even offensively because of the issues listed above. So then that lineup gets a short stint, AD goes out, LBJ comes in, and it's break even again.

He made better decisions vs. HOU, but that was more of an uptempo game as well.

Because of the Gilbert Arenas provision other teams can only offer him ... the MLE I think. Around 10 mil. We'll be able to match that
