Do you think the Heat would pull this trigger?

Of course the Heat do, but do Frankie and the Wolves? Magic 8-ball says "Are you (bleep) crazy?"

Can somebody please give me proof positive that the Lakers were really after DA if it is possible?! :x

Cause I'm not tryin to hear that!!!!

Shaq pulled up the petunias at his LosAngeles home and, left because he had to have it that way and wouldn't accept anyplace else. Kapono is the only real steal that I see and that is no big deal...

I don't think there was a serious attempt to do so. I believe the DA rumor was started when his agent was asked if he should have chosen the Lakers instead of the Rockets and his agent said that would have been the better move, but as usual players often go after the $$. In DA's case he would have still drawn money from Portland, so the extra 2 and half million (not sure of the exact figure he was offered) and the lenght of the contract were the deciding factor. Now he goes to the Heat as their #3 PG.
F DA and his agent.

Also, I believe AD was our main interest.

I bet DA will not improve the Heat.

We had better hope that Riley isn't interested in KG this offseason.

KG is not a free agent this year or next or the one after that. I believe he is under contract till 2009. So will Riles start taking this team apart to make that trade, assuming he is after KG or KG is on the market! Best to wait till we cross that bridge!
KG's contract has a players option for 2008-'09 @ 24mil... I believe that makes him a RFA after '07-'08!

Actually Real GM has him listed as an unrestrictive FA in the summer of 2008;

Does that mean the Heat will be getting Channing Frye in the off-season?

From what I understand, KG has what's called an "ETO" (early termination
option) in the summer of 2007. I'd expect that means he'd have to give
up alot of loot (since contracts balloon out and are far higher-paying in
the latter years than the early ones)... so don't expect it to happen.

But that's what I heard. I think it may have been Larry Coon that
mentioned it recently - not sure, but it was a reliable source.

I wonder if real gm has this, I will searc h. I would not be surprised, given his reduction in pay he accepted when renegotiated his contract and the T-Wolves reluctancy to give him help

Are you referring to the Option some players have? Sometimes the player have the option in the second to last year in their contract and sometimes it is a team option. I did not see that in realgm. This may not be accurate, but usually they are dead on these!

Well, like I said, it's not a player-option, it's an ETO. I think that has
different implications and is actually a pretty uncommon thing.

Larry (again I think it was him who posted this) mentioned that it was
something to do with the old CBA and a mistake that had been made
which only affected a handful of higher-tier players.

Not sure of the details, but pretty sure the ETO was 2007 for KG, which
was a surprise.
