Is it possible that Petroleum in the ground was a type of insulator keeping the earths core heat from reaching the surface and tectonic plates? I am imagining that heat could make the plates behave differently

I have a feeling that people in middle America are happy with sadistic glee about this. I read that when the last wildfire hit months ago they reacted the same way.

Long overdue, seems like we went without a big quake for a long time. At least its occurring in a sparsely populated area, if this happened in a highly populated area the damage would be significant.

Looks like a lot of damage around the Ridgecrest area. Homes going up in fires, grocery stores with heavy damage.

Did you guys feel the quake last night? Kawhi Leonard and Paul George went to the Clippers, the city shook.
