DG is like that Mom in the Twisted Sister video “ We are not gonna take it anymore.” Meek during the storm of the regular season, and once the roles reverse, and we are beating someone down, DG comes in with a couple of shots, sort of like shooting somebody who is already dead.
I agree he needs to be on the shelf next season, let someone else start at SG and nurse him along until the playoffs.
At this point, people should not try to evaluate Green based on his salary or the notion that he's the #3 guy.
After AD and Lebron, we have a big drop-off to a collection of players who you can't distinctively rank in terms of their importance. Green is just one of the 8 or so rotation players behind the two stars.
Rondo's the number 3 guy. Controls the tempo, the pace, and the game
Man that block by Danny on Mason was epic!! _________________ Starting Lakers Dynasty6.0! NOW!!

I was pretty disgusted by his play on both ends the entire first half and into the third honestly but at some point he turned a switch and became a legit positive force on both ends.
He was awesome much of that second half and helped give Bron & AD just enough help to close this series tf out!

Closing out this game Green was solid, and he had a couple key plays that kept the Lakers on top. On both ends of the court. All in all I'm very appreciative of what he did tonight.

DG is like Bob Horry. For whatever reason, he does not look like he does all that much for a team, but wherever he goes there's a lot of success and he makes a lot of trips to the NBA Finals. Its very rare to go to 3 different teams to the NBA Finals, within a 5-6 year period. DG may be able to accomplish that.
I know for what he brings he is overpaid, but the Lakers did not want to put longterm dollars on the books so they overpaid in the short run. And Danny does a lot of team chemistry things that do not show up on the books.
Next year though, I would prefer him coming off the bench. KCP's athleticism and extra motor is very obvious the difference in ages and impact. Someone like KCP in Danny's role would help us next year. Green needs to load manage in the RS, and step up in the playoffs off the bench, ala Rondo.
Agreed - very good points. He's been terrible but I still have faith in him and, outside of James and AD, would still prefer Green for a do-or-die, no-time-on-the-clock shot to KCP/Caruso, and heaven forbids Kuz. Green is a veteran who has been through championship runs.
Like I said...
Great effort tonight. _________________ Lakers fan since that Magical day June 25, 1979.
I know it's unpopular but I still believe he will end up coming up big for this team during this run with some key 3's. I'm not ready to stick a fork in him yet.
BTW, my gut read he will come up big in the finals, at least in a couple games (which is all we need).
[I'm looking at you DG, do not make me consider this fork again...]

Danny Green and Derek Fisher are like the most random big name NBA players. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Removing garbage time, the Lakers are a +16.9 in 763 playoff possessions with Danny Green on the floor according to

. They have a 123.9 offRTG in those lineups.
He also has the 3rd best PIPM on the team (+1.89), 15th best overall.
Suck it, haters. _________________ Under New Management
A lot of fans, myself included, bag on him when he muses a 3 or layup, but somehow he’s always one of the leading +/- in the team and when he’s out on the floor, Lakers seem to be winning. It’s the little things he does, he makes some winning plays out there. His defense has impressed me as well as his offensive boards. Timely shots as well. He just knows how to be in a winning possession. _________________
Just keep him from switching onto point guards as much as possible (Dragic or Kemba not as quick as Denver pg's) and allow his help and recover defense to shine. Also
Danny needs to drive more like when he took it to Joker rather than firing up those three's.
Cant wait for DG to come up big in the Finals! _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though."
