i would limit his minutes to 22mpg and keep my sniper ready for a deep run. Green is older and has been on a few deep runs. Let the younger guys get some rep.. it will make us that much stronger.

Yep. 22mpg or way less in pre-season.

I'm not a fan of playing vets in fact, anyone heavy minutes in the regular season. If it was up to me we would be the heaviest load managing team in the NBA. Too many years of watching Laker players go down not to have this mindset.

The only thing thats going to stop us in my mind is an injury. No reason to put any of our players at risk to win a couple more meaningless regular season games. Honestly I wouldn't play anyone over 60 games but thats me. Maybe it will be harder to get into the playoffs this way but I believe we would still get in

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2019/10/7/20901461/lakers-danny-green-spacing-anthony-davis-lebron-james-very-rare-adjust-nba-stats-preseason

Danny Green was asked how rare it is to get some of the open looks he got tonight: "Very. Something I’m not used to but I’ll get used to it and hopefully knock down some shots when I’m open."

If someone like Danny Green can get looks that open because of the focus on Lebron & AD, he should have even a better year from 3 than last year.

4/5 of the shots he took were corner 3s and that is where he is best it (about 51% last year). I am going to assume he missed 3 3's last game because he isn't used to being that open.

When was the last time the Lakers had a high volume, >40%, three point shooter? Byron Scott?

Glen Rice?

Fisher in his second stint in LA, though maybe not on crazy volume.

I was just thinking about how his elite transition defense should allow our twin tower lineups to play for offensive rebounds more aggressively
AD and Mcgee/Dwight constantly crashing offensive boards together is going to be killer

im so excited about this. we can literally go triple tower on other teams a$$es. mcg, ad, d12.

then lbj and your best 3pt shooter at the moment. this should beat every team in the nba. this is the so called "death lineup". all those guys can guard perimiter players, so nothing to worry about there. the ONLY person that can ruin this plan is mr. injury or REFs. and the refs will for sure.

there is no way in basketball to beat a bigger team if most things are relatively equal or even relatively unequal. even if curry is on the other team, theres not much they can do. you cannot beat with this many good big men. it will take a whole lot of crazy reffing and allowing harden to travel and draw fouls to do it, and it will be obvious when you watch how bad it is (if that happens). we're not talking about awkward klunky rik smits ghoerghe bigs here. were talking highly athletic mobile talented bigs (minus d12 offensive talent). regular season should be a block fest and a DONK fest. playoffs will get interesting once the refs start doing their thing.

Outside of being an actual shooter, a non-fake defender, and a multi-time NBA champion, Green is exactly like KCP.

Didn't like what I saw(long pull up 2s and off dribble 3s) in the brooklyn game. I hope the coaching staff is just experimenting and that this doesn't carry over to the regular season. DG should stay as a spot up 3pt shooter and nothing else. No reason to take him out of his role where he's elite.

What I'm worried about is Green's volatility from 3 his past few seasons. He's ranged from last year's elite 45.5% to an anemic 33% from the arc in the regular season. And in the postseason, he's been absolute garbage for the past three years. After his epic regular season, the guy shot 32% from 3 during the playoffs last year. Very concerning.

I didnt mind the pull up 2s as a counter to someone chasing him off the 3 point line. If he can get off a clean mid ranger that is his best option to punish a player charging at him as he's not a paint finisher or a play maker once he puts the ball on the floor.

He was shooting blanks. But I liked his defense. It sure would be cool if he shot at the same percentage as last season
