| Let me start out by saying, I rarely post, but I love this forum. This past week has been crazy. I work in a Las Vegas restaurant owned by a celebrity chef. Tonight Jerry West came in to have dinner with 5 other people. It's pretty common during Summer league to see players and executives in our restaurant. Even still, I thought it was cool to see the logo in person. Right about the time that the earthquake happened, Jerry disappeared for about 20 minutes on a phone call. Seeing how things turned out, I can only guess it was about the looming events. His table dropped about 14k on wine. I don't know if he normally does that or if they were in celebratory mode. He was showing everyone his phone toward the end of dinner with a big smile. I can only wonder what was being talked about. I love the Lakers, but it's dumb as hell that Jerry isn't still leading the way for the franchise. Not anything groundbreaking, but I thought I would share with everyone. |

| its frustrating that he's not running the lakers, but screw him, the clippers are garbage anyways, Paul George is such a ***** for screwing over the thunder and lakers, and kawhi is a ***** too for stringing the lakers all along, Imo I don't think the lakers missed out on any free agents other than Russell, he would have asked for a lot of money anyways |

Its clear they just wanted to come to LA but wanted Kawhi to have his own team. |

Literally nowhere is reporting that this is Jerry West's doing. I could be wrong. Seems to me all Jerry West did was give up close to what the Lakers did for Paul George because it's what Kawhi wanted. No one will ever know.. if this off-season has taught us anything its that these "reporters" and "insiders" don't know anything lol. They know fans will hang on their every word so they throw ish out there.
I believe he wanted to play in Los Angeles. I also sort of think IF the Lakers hadn't made the trade for Anthony Davis and instead gave that package up for Paul George.. Kawhi *might* be a Laker. That's only going based off of reports of him heavily recruiting Paul George.
I mean i get it -- It's earth shattering, sure. After the dust settles though.. I think people will realize the Lakers and Clippers aren't exactly better than the other in terms of talent. Clippers still need to fill out their roster and they have less resources than we do if my math is correct.
The west is going to be fun, man.. Denver, Utah, Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Portland, the Pelicans might end up surprising some people.. San Antonio never really goes away lol.
Yes, it sucks.. Kawhi chose the Clippers and got them to get Paul George. Lakers got themselves some vets though.. and one thing you can't say this year about the Lakers is they lack shooting. LeBron + AD + a whole lot of shooting is going to be fun. |
