He started 18 games for the Warriors championship team during their RS (17-18).
He was their backup in the following year, where they went to the Finals.
In fact, he played 34 playoff games over 2 years with the Warriors, at about 10 minutes each game.
For us, he barely played, at 6 games 4 min each game.
Frank doesn't trust his D, but he does trust that Cook knows how to play a role and will give you some shooting, and some 3rd string PG play, What happens with Dennis is hurt? Or if Bron is? Or there's a night where the shooting is woeful and you need some 3 point shooting.
I do not think he is garbage, at the same time he is not impact. He is a third string guy with a lot of NBA championship experience in that reserve role. |
Who’s D does Frank trust? |
The players who got way more minutes.
Cook can get more minutes if he defends, but he is not really effective on that end. For example we started Bradley, who is not as good a 3 point shooter, but was much more of a defender. We started Caruso, again, same thing. Guys will get minutes if they are showing they can be tenacious defenders. Cook is decent at what he does, but that’s been usually a guy that can come in and shoot some 3s and give you a few layups on a weak D. |

I believe Cook will get more minutes because I think we were lacking consistent Ball handling last year, and we have a lot more of that and that means better looks for the C&S guys...
Any way, I don't think he will get less PT this year, and as long as he keeps the chemistry up, it'll be a good signing |

Cookie is Non Guaranteed
Not sure if this was posted but it’s interesting
Per Smith
Quinn Cook's new contract with the LA Lakers is a non-guaranteed training camp deal. It will convert to a standard non-guaranteed contract (becoming fully guaranteed on 2/27/21) if Cook makes the Lakers roster out of camp.

That's a surprise. Something tells me he will get cut if it seems like there will be a strong buyout market. |

And maybe they are still thinking about the possibility of signing a guy like Dredmond right now for the min if he wants. |

QC is averaging 50% from 3, one shot per game.
His pretty efficient in limited time, per 36 mins he’s averaging 25 points 3 assists. _________________ Marcellus Wiley |

Nobody better than this guy at coming off the bench, dusting himself off, and nailing a 3 point shot. |
