Because unlike guys like Howard or Noah he can shoot the 3 ball and plays more like a modern day big.

You realize he's shorter than Davis, Kuzma, and Lebron? (lighter than Lebron too) Nice hustle "big" who plays bigger than he is... but starting Center... ehh...

ZBo is a better choice. 35% from 3pt and he can be effective posting up.

I understand your concerns but Faried plays more similar to Cousins then Howard does, btw I wouldn’t mind Noah if we can’t get Faried cause I have always loved his game and his passing is nice.

I like the idea, basically any 3 of Noah/ZBo/Faried is fine by me.

I would keep an eye on Baynes in PHX. He would be a great fit imo.

Either a trade or buyout. Buyout more likely as Phoenix owner hates the Lakers.

Not sure the Suns would basically buy him out, they wanna make noise and Baynes helps them with winning experience. 1 more bad season and Booker will likely ask out, they need as much resources as possible.

Noah would be first choice. His defense can make a difference.

Second would be Faried.

Then get into more risky choices like Howard.

Hope the Lakers move fast as it is necessary.

Every player that leaves the Lakers becomes overrated.

Noah and iggy (after possible buy out) would be a really nice recovery after the DMC news.

Noah won't command minutes and will be a nice change of energy, defensive, hustle guy.

I think the loss of talent is bigger than the loss of the position. Could be best to sign a serviceable big on a 2-way for now (a la Jonathan Williams) and keep the open roster spot, in part to see what happens with Iggy and a couple other players. Then when you get to December 15, you can make moves to open up a spot.

If we’re talking about break glass in emergency replacement level centers, you can get through a couple months without using the last spot.

Why do they need to sign another traditional center (not to mention a washed-up one)? This sort of clears the way to use AD now at his best position, while honestly maintaining they tried their best to honor his preference of playing the 4. It's not their fault the Cousins signing was a bust and everyone else left was crap.

I hate to say it but this is not necessarily bad news (although maybe it leads to Melo)...

I'd rather use Dudley as a backup 5, if need be.

The Lakers have really screwed themselves. This is only the beginning of the poop show coming this season.

Thank god we have someone positive around here. I can always count on you to be uplifting us all. Thanks, Darth.

With that said, hmm, tell me, Jedi, how did the Lakers screw themselves? By picking up a potentially great center for $3.5 million? What, instead of overpaying for a less than good player? Or are you one of the DLO lovers that would have overpaid that dude $27 million. Wow, the Warriors were pretty stupid.

I don't know where you get "poop show" when the Lakers had an OUTSTANDING off season. I mean, the best off season since acquiring Shaq and Kobe, and its a "poop show"

Or are you still hurt they didn't get Kawhi? Thank god we didn't because we got talent around this team now.

Boogie is a loss, but not a crazy loss. He would have either been great or played sub par, it was hard to tell. He wasn't the X factor on the team...he was a nice to have..

Boogie is the Lakers third best player. Let that totally sink in.

He was never going to be more than a 5th option when you count Kuzma and Green.

Um, Faried is a career 22% 3-shooter. Even his 35% for Houston last year was at barely 1 attempt per game.

I wouldn't mind getting him on the basis of his rebounding and hustle alone. But I'm leaning more toward Speights at this point based on his outside shot and his wingspan (7-6 vs. 7-0 for Faried).

Poor Boogie, dude has lost a lot of money these last few years with the injuries. Praying he'll come back strong. Lakers should sign K. Faried to fill in.

It would be perversely interesting to see a home player booed on ever touch again. Brings back Kwame memories.

He never took care of his body and it eventually broke. Assuming he didn't make a lot of bad decisions he should be set for life anyway.
