Is there a market for AB at more than we're paying him?

We will see. The Warriors have a 9.3 million dollar exception now, but that is only for a 1 year contract.

Undoubtedly, there are a number of teams that can pay him. My question is are they willing to do so? I can see AB being attractive to a championship contender that needs a combo guard off the bench, but is that worth more than $5 million or worth multiple years to a team?

Probably. And I think the issue is he's looking for a multi-year deal, which the Lakers don't seem interested in doing.

Warriors would be foolish to pay him, b/c not only do they have to pay his salary, but the resulting luxury tax on it. So something like 5m/year could end up including 30m+ in luxury taxes because of it (just a wild uneducated guess here).

the lakers have always let the player set the market. go find a deal you like. If we think your worth it we'll give a better one.

Hopefully, Avery will see what the Lakers are doing and want to be a part of it next year as well...!

he didn't want to play in the bubble this year, not sure if he would do the same next year. I'm sure teams are looking at that closely. You don't want him to be a key part of your team and having the same thing happen in the playoff.

It's not that big of a loss.

Bradley’s analytics have never supported his biggest fans’ feelings about him. His ball pressure on defense earns him a lot of fans, but years of data suggest his overall defensive impact is pretty average.

Meanwhile, offensively he’s really struggled the last three seasons … with the ironic exception being the 14 games we had him in Memphis in 2019. Bradley’s 3-point shooting is solid enough (36.4 percent), but he’s not a high-volume launcher. He’s a good enough midrange shooter that it’s actually a pretty acceptable shot, but he rarely gets to the rim and virtually never draws fouls, and doesn’t create anything for others.

Free agent Avery Bradley has agreed to a two-year, $11.6M deal with the Miami Heat, his agent Charles Briscoe tells @TheAthleticNBA@Stadium

Don't give away all of our secrets in Miami, AB.

Weird. He was too scared to play in the Orlando bubble but will now pick up and move to Miami.

That can’t be that much more money than we offered if he had opted in. Some of these dudes decisions are baffling.

No income tax in Florida makes the difference closer to $2M for the 2 years that’s a good chunk of change.

With taxes, the move makes sense. It stings a little. But oh well.
