Nice projects to work with and develop, THT (def and aoverall skill), Kostas (def and length) and Norvell (def and shooting). Seems like more pots tail than Wagner or Benga or Svi.

Bonga is a very nice prospect. Best defensive prospect of that lot

I can't tell you how happy this makes me.

This guy is a steal......A 6-10 Power Forward with great height and wingspan (huge help on defence) and he is only going to get better and more explosive with his offense game. If he can add a jump shot to his game...wow....

#2 can go screw himself with the clippers, while we win championships. A big thank you to the Antetokounmpo brothers who both want to play for the Lakers. The Future for the Lakers looks even greater now.

I know Kidd coached Giannis, did Kidd also have a big role in his development? Afterall, Giannis does have some guard skills.

Is Kostas taking up the last roster spot? Or is this a two-way contract?

All part of the plan to court Giannis. Nothing more, nothing less.

the mavs suck. They don't posses the patience, art and skill it takes to develop a player like Kostas. A. Something tells me we are going to turn him into a beast. Phil Handy and Kobe Bryant will teach. Of coarse getting Giannis is the main reason.

No, so many better options to use the 2 way on. Crappy brothers have been given contracts for years, and I can't recall a single time that led to the good brother signing with the team. Just dumb.

Would you count this one:

Because we had Marc Gasol, we were able to obtain his older brother Pau, and the rest is history.

I'm a little ignorant on Giannis, is there evidence or a statement out there leading us to believe he is interested in being a Laker?

Penberthy will teach him to shoot
Vogel will teach him to defend
Kidd will teach him how to Giannis.

Two Giannii for the price of one.

Since when do we need evidence to know that every superstar ever wants to be a Laker?

That’s the way to look at this, generate some interest in South Bay.

There is a statement that he wouldn’t want to live in LA, but nothing about the Lakers. Seems he likes the small town atmosphere.

We signed KCP and then his big brother Lebron joined him a year later.

Well... about that:

Quote:
The Mavs made the decision to waive Kostas after what could be said as a horrible summer league for the young Greek. In the five games he played and started in Las Vegas, Antetokounmpo never really managed to impress. He wound up playing just 13.5 minutes a game, averaging 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds on 39.3 percent shooting from the field and 18.2 percent from the 3-point territory.

Anyone know if he shares an agent with Giannis? If so, it’s a KCP/LeBron 2017 situation. Sign the guy so you can cozy up to his agent all season.

I'd imagine they do share the same one....

This is a great signing for these purposes: 1) It creates a channel to Giannis, 2) Adds a "big name" to South Bay Lakers 3) An opportunity to develop someone with rare physical gifts 4) Create the Giannis to Lakers narrative

Huh? You make it sound as if Freak has been free agent all these yrs constantly turning down teams who signed his brothers? I just looked up Thanasis. He was drafted in 14 by Knicks. That had nothing to do with hoping Freak would sign since he was barely drafted and on his rookie deal with the Bucks.

So this marks the first time teams are positioning for the Freak. Lakers signing Kostas and Bucks signing Thanasis. So his bros have not been given contracts "for years" in hopes of signing Freak.
