I did not watch much....do he look better than JT Daniels? I would assume one will be on the move this summer.

I didn't get a chance to see Daniels last week I was out of town on a funeral. But Slovis has a nice touch and the ball just seems to be in the right spot. I know arm strength it important but this kid has touch. I think most scouts want strength first then we'll work on refining it. But it's nice to have that control early on as a freshman.

It was just one game, but he looked much better than Daniels.

Daniels was 25-34 for 215 yards, 1 td and 1 int.

Slovis was 28-33 for 377 yards, 3 tds and 0 ints.

Yeah this kid is for real. Good arm, can run, and has Ryan Day as a QB coach. That guy can coach QB's and run an offense. Time will tell if he is a good HC and can recruit, hopefully he is.

Too think OSU had a QB depth chart of JT Barrett/Dwayne Haskins/Joe Burrow. Urban sure could recruit.

I know it does not always matter, but I was surprised when I looked at Slovis recruiting profile. I am actually a little surprised he ended up @ USC. He was a low-mid 3 Star recruit (26th Pro Style QB and 705th Overall). Even if you look at his other offers, there is no other school on the list near the pedigree of USC.....NC State and Oregon State were only other P5 offers. In comparison, JT Daniels screams USC QB....5 Star Recruit (2nd Pro Style QB and 16th Overall). Daniels offer list reads like a who's who of college football....Alabama, Michigan, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, and many more.

no, I can't say I do know much about A&M, but I am willing to bet even their boosters are not eating $40-$50 Million on a contract for a guy that 90% of D1 programs would kill to get. Jimbo is a good coach with the resume to prove it. Losing to Clemson should not be a hot seat loss.

That would be an unwise bet. Like all of the SEC teams, the Aggies have a few creampuffs on the schedule, so the next game is Lamar. Then comes Auburn (home), Arkansas (Jerrydome), and Alabama (home). The Aggies need that Auburn game.

Slovis was coached by Kurt Warner. Perhaps that's why he looked so calm and accurate with the football.

T. Boone Pickens, billionaire OK St. donor, dies

Quote:
T. Boone Pickens, the billionaire oil tycoon whose money helped put Oklahoma State football on the map, died Wednesday. He was 91.

Quote:
Pickens' penchant for philanthropy and love for Oklahoma State football dovetailed in 2006 when he donated $165 million to the athletic program, the largest single gift in NCAA history.

Kansas beats a mediocre FCS team @ home in Week 1.....loses to Coastal Carolina (aka Myrtle Beach U) @ home in Week 2....then goes to Boston College (projected to be one of the better ACC teams) and blows the doors off them in Week 3...

just does not make sense.....

Clemson in the ACC is like the Patriots in the AFC East.

without Clemson, I am not sure the ACC is better than the American or Mountain West.....it clearly would be the worst P5 conference by a solid margin. The ACC desperately needs Miami, FSU and Va. Tech to get back on track.

San Diego State 23
UCLA 14

Aztec Nation approves, I don't know how Rocky Long walks around with such huge balls.

There are no games on the schedule this week between ranked teams. The last time this happened was in Week 7 of 2017, and there was chaos with 7 unranked teams beating ranked teams including Syracuse beating #2 Clemson. Beyond those 7 losses, 6 other ranked teams escaped with margins of a TD or less.

Today Alabama travels to Columbia, SC for a SEC matchup against South Carolina. It is the first time the teams have played since 2010. At some point don't we need to examine why we consider teams in the same conference if they literally only play each other once per decade?

it will depend on if Rice plays 4 Quarters....if so, then I definitely would take Rice and the points. My fear is at some point, they throw in the towel. They played hard in Week 1 against a solid team and came up short. Last week, I did not think they ever gave up.....but at some point if they continue to play hard and are not rewarded with one in the left hand column, they may just give up to a degree and that is when it can go from a 14 point deficit to a 40 point deficit in the blink of an eye.

Watching the Ohio State at Indiana game and it is easy to see poor coaching. Indiana’s play caller is calling plays for himself, not what is best for the team. He has no understanding of who the players on the field are.

UCLA is pretty bad these days, knew it when they lost to Fresno State at home last year.

USC still sucks. I guess Stanford was much worse then we all thought.

How long will it take for a PAC-12 team to win a national title?

Looks like a down year for the program. Although you could tell the program was coming down to earth when you saw who they lost to in previous seasons.

Notre Dame had a great win today vs New Mexico but they aren't going to play this well next week so I'll enjoy it for today.
