He's Caruso's replacement in the G-League.

He definitely sounds like that is all he is qualified for based on his resume. Disappointing that we didn't leave that last spot open for Iggy, although we could still cut him or Troy Daniels to make room if the opportunity presents itself. I'm just wondering why we picked up a 10th guard instead of a wing defender, which is a major area of need?

Camp fodder.

If they think they'll need a wing defender, they'll get one by mid-December. Those guys are literally a dime a dozen. Wing defenders who can contribute offensively, however, are another story and are not readily available.

As for leaving a roster spot open for Iggy, Memphis has pretty much made it clear that teams in the market for Iggy will have to trade for him. They're not buying him out and are looking for a #1 pick.

Where are you getting this information that he isn't a part of the team? That article posted claims quite the opposite.

He's a training camp invite IIRC.

How many open spots--including individuals on non-guaranteed contracts--are there on the roster?

I think we can have up to 20 total for training camp. Teams can only have 15 total on the roster, and then 2 2 way deals IIRC.

6'1 195 lb with a 6'5 wingspan. 38% on three points (college stats).

43.5 inch vertical leap and he plays defense.

I remember him from college; wondered whatever happened to him.

Warm body; probably nothing more than camp fodder.
He may be able to parlay it into a G-League contract somewhere. Good luck to him.

What's wrong with taking a flyer on a young kid with upside?
Not a Homer but the negative/pessimism round here is a bit much. Some of you knocking the kid who never seen him play in college or what he has done since..
