What's weird to me is how inconsequential Bynum was in all three of our finals appearances with him on the roster. He was supposed to be the #3 guy after Kobe and Pau but was really more like the #6 guy or lower after Odom, Ariza/Artest, and Fisher.

He didn't seem like a good fit next to Pau imo.

Yeah, and the one season in which Bynum was the #2 (under Brown), Pau averaged career lows, the offense was stagnant, and the Lakers got knocked out 4-1 by OKC in the second round. IMO Bynum was a black hole on offense.

Bynum injured his knee when he went bowling. Last thing this team needs is another knee injury after what happened to Cousins.

Dumb idea....

Bynum has no desire to ever play the game of basketball again...

Only reason he was attempting a comeback last year or whenever it was is because the dumbass probably burned through his cash....

He never wanted to play the game, even Phil Jackson said that...

Plus he is made of glass...

I think most of the players are after the cash, but good points otherwise

Bynum is JaMarcus Russell of NBA. Tons of potential but zero desire to be great, just happy collecting his welfare check.

Gotta push back on this. Bynum accomplished much more in his career than JaMarcus

I’d like to look into Patrick Ewing after we check out Bynum.

Dude, be realistic... Patrick Ewing is so past it.

Hakeem is still worth a look though!

Definitely look at him first. If they don't then the clippers will sign him and we will regret it.

Bynum played through knee injuries and helped us win a title, playing on a swollen knee that needed drained every couple games, a knee that was pretty much unsalvageable afterwards. This happened before the long surgery/rehab and the headcase antics that some posters can only remember him by now.

I'd be very surprised if Bynum can still contribute meaningful regular season minutes, but it's a trivial cost to the Lakers to give him a workout.
