I can’t believe I am saying this! But Howard has been a great teammate and addition to the roster. None of the “knucklehead “ I fully expected to come to the surface throughout the season. Respect to him for buying in and keeping focused. Also to the leadership of players and coaches to keep him focused.
He is a critical part of the playoff wins. His impact has been huge all season.
Tough to peg where his true value will be. He will get offers above where the Lakers can realistically go. Will he sacrifice more money (often equating to respect) to remain a Laker or take one of the bigger offers with another team? More importantly, can he be as valuable a role player in another locker room? Or does the old knucklehead and PITA teammate come back?
Going to be multiple players with uncertain Laker futures this off-season. Let’s get the ring and then have that as bargaining leverage. “This “ Howard is valuable. It will be interesting if “this” Howard is with the team next year. |

I have to now wonder, we play sooo much better with Dwight than McGee, what was the rational behind McGee starting over Dwight for the regular season and majority of the postseason? |

Javale gets a little miffed when he doesn't see the floor a good bit.
Plus, Dwight vs. the 2nd unit of another team is usually bad for them. |

Looking back at this thread, most people here weren't enamored with the Dwight and Rondo signing, but those two played a big part in getting us to where we are now, on the cusp of #17. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

Hoping to see more minutes for Dwight in game 4, especially so if Bam plays.
We need his energy and toughness! |

No matter how many minutes Dwight plays tonight, he has to go hard, because we really need his rim protection and rebounding.
He can still be a difference-maker when he plays smart and under control. |

Dwight is having a tough time with the spaced out stretch centers, as well as being on switches. Without Bam it's a tough matchup for him. Kelly Olynk has been playing on fire this series. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Miami Heat C Bam Adebayo is being listed as questionable to play in Game 4 of the NBA Finals vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Adebayo has missed the past two games of the series due to a neck/shoulder strain he re-aggravated in Game 1.
Quote: |
“It’s up to the medical staff. I’m trying to get back as quickly as possible,” Adebayo said. “They’re just trying to make sure I’m safe and I’m ready to play. So, it’s really day-to-day, and when they say I’m ready to play, I’ll be out there. |

Dragic has been able to put pressure on the foot, but the guard said that dealing with the pain is the most significant factor in his potential return.
“I’m doing everything I can do,” Dragic said. “It does feel better than when it happened. We’ll see. I snapped it, so it’s already bad. I’m dealing with a lot of pain, so that’s the main concern. I don’t want to be a liability on the floor for my team. I want to be the best that I can be.” |

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra pointed out that both have lobbied to play since suffering their respective injuries, but the team wants to make sure it handles their returns properly. |

Forever enshrined as a Laker great. We don't get here in the same way we did without his play against Jokic and his play in the regular season.
Champion Dwight Howard, add that to his plaque when they enshrine him in the HOF |

What a turn around for this guy. From rock bottom, plague to teammates... to beloved by fans, and now a champion. _________________ "We got a new universe coming and he's going to control all our universes. We're going to put our universes together" - Metta World Peace |

When people look back at this team many years from now, they will think it was a loaded 4 HOF team with Bron, AD, Dwight and Rondo. But neither Rondo or Dwight were in their prime or played at that level.
However the roles that Rondo and Dwight played were critical. Without Dwight's defense against Joker we do not beat that team. He set the tone from the start of the season, of what kind of physical team we are. And even if he did not play tonight until garbage time, the fact is, he was someone the Heat were planning for, and we have that flexibility to either play super big, or relatively big.
Dwight Howard, you are a champion, dude. You deserve it. You will be yet another storied HOF player that won a ring with the Lakers. Well done. |

Out of everyone....I am most happy for Dwight and then Rondo. Dwights emotional IG tells you all you need to know about how much a title meant to him after everything he had been through. Rondo was counted dead and out. A lot of us didnt even bat an eye when he returned from injury thinking if anything he would be a negative and take away plaything time from someone who could be useful. My Champions |

I think of that moment years ago when Mitch showed him the trophies from past Lakers championships....well now Dwight finally got his imprint on the Larry O'Brien. |
