Watching him play off the ball is incredible. He’s working so hard out there every shift. I was worried that it wouldn’t last, but he’s committed, and you can see it in his body language.

He and McGee have a strong relationship, and are rooting hard for each other from the bench.

The fans absolutely love him now. What an amazing story. Just beautiful.

So many reasons to feel good about this team this year, and he’s certainly up there on the list.

One thing I loved... last night the Hawks had 99 points and it was down to the last minute or so.

They end up scoring and Dwight slammed the ball down in frustration that they broke the 100 point mark I think.

I loved that! It wasnt the mentality the game is over who cares.

just watch him position for a rebound every time a shot is about to go up....it is very Rodman like. Some of it is subtle, but unlike players that just stake out a position and rebound the ball if it comes to them, Dwight is constantly seeking the optimal position based on where he expects the shot to come off the rim. He truly is a gifted rebounder with next level instincts.

Last season was a wake up call for his professional basketball career. He only played 9 games, and probably saw his NBA career was close to an end. I believe he decided to change his attitude, his diet, taking care of his body, as well as his outlook on his career because if he didn't there was nothing for him in the NBA.

Good old Dwight. Proud to say I was a believer from the jump. I’d love for him to win a championship with us.

It's unbelievable how do you have a guy with 75%fg, with 7 ppg, and you just don't feed him. Why? Neither Rondo or Lebron are playing with Howard. The only guy who's passing the ball to Dwight is... KCP.

It's frustrating.

Lol not feeding him is the reason his percentage is so high.

But he is totally right only KcP looks for Dwight when he comes off those curls...

I been trying to say this and just couldn't put it together.

He is a big reason why we are so "big". He commands 2-3 guys to stop him from getting those boards. This team would be even better if we had a penetrating PG to feed him.

Dwight needs a few more touches and a few more minutes. At the same time, maybe this will keep him fresh for the playoffs. A lot of the ones we are missing him on are when he is wide open inside, a good pass or lob will get it done.

He is clearly our MVP (aside of the big 2). To think he had to almost beg to sign with us. Glad for the guy. He clearly has matured. Better to late than never.

I like his role right now, just concentrate on defense and boards... we got plenty of shooters (shots eventually gonna fall) and AD eat first in the paint

This type of thinking is exactly what will undermine Howard’s success. Once he starts thinking he “deserves more touches” is when the typical Howard crap will start.

He is doing exactly what he was supposed to do... play hard on defense, get rebounds, and be happy with a few dunks a game.

So far I have been pleasantly surprised he has been able to keep on that limited but important track. Every once in a while he starts to pound the ball and back down his defender and I cringe because it usually ends up stripped or a wild shot.

Howard’s biggest problem has always been his overblown sense of self. Followed by his immaturity when he didn’t get his way. Don’t encourage bad behavior! He is doing exactly what this team needs. I hope he can continue it all season long.

It's not that he thinks he needs more touches. But did you see a number of times he got free or was alone underneath against the Grizzlies and the ball handler wasn't aware of him? Those could have been high percentage shots.

I'm good with how much he's playing. Gotta keep him healthy and fresh for the playoffs.

There was is no “saving him for the playoffs” for role players.

You run them into the ground and save your stars from having to exert that energy over 82 games. Howard needs to keep busting his butt every second he is on the floor. Then recover and do it the next night.

This is just a small but hopefully never becomes an issue for this team. Signing too many older win now players. Youth and those high energy “dogs” are needed on every team. Do the Lakers have enough to last the season? Or will the older role players be worn down too early and often in the season? It’s a balancing act for the coaches.

Lakers can’t protect every player all season long. Some will need to extend more in limited roles and mins to “save” James and Davis for the playoffs.
