Hope he’s gone? I think you meant to say hope he’s “not” gone. I will correct you on that. Howard has been outstanding.

That's a terrible typo...lol. Either that or he's a Clipper fan. But yea, nobody would want their best big man gone regardless of what he did in the past.

I expect Howard to resign for vet minimum even though he could get more elsewhere because like I've said from the beginning, he didn't come back because he needed money. He's got enough money to burn.

He never mentioned AD (our best big man).

He meant a banging center not a small forward in a center's body.

The thing is we do look for him on rolls, but because we do not really have a great driving point guard, Dwight will not be left as much. He sets killer screens, and then creates an opening for Lebron, or any ballhandling guard. Thing is, the defense does not fear those players on the drives (aside from Lebron). This is why Dwight will not get those same chances, unless we go the post up route. And with AD getting the post ups, it then becomes difficult to get Dwight them.

I think what we need is more Lebron-Dwight screen and rolls. We do not see many of them, in part because Dwight is often setting a screen for a wing coming off a curl and if he does set a screen for Lebron, Lebron sees such a big opening he takes the open lane or jumpshot.

Dwight can be a major weapon with Lebron, in screen setting situations. Once Dwight sets that screen, Lebron with the ball in his hands, defenses will not want to deal with that.

I like what Frank did in the last game, which was to bring Rondo in early to play with the starters, and then bring Lebron in with the 2nd unit. This is probably what we should do in the playoffs as well, and then milk some of those Lebron-Dwight pick and rolls.

I do not want any rondo. Otherwise i agree with you.

Gonna be tricky. We need to use most if not all of our full MLE (assuming we are an over cap team) on better perimeter players. Maybe the BAE but it's not much for him.

first we gotta win it all this season, that'll convince AD without a doubt to resign for the max, hope KCP resign (MLE?), Dwight/JaVale/Boogie need to be convinced to take the minimum... all 3 of them

Win it all, then let KCP and JaVale walk IF Boogie is healthy (Clippers will give JaVale the full MLE).

Split the MLE between Dwight & Boogie

Trade DG/Kuz/THT/whoever we draft with our #1 for LaVine

Starters: Bron/AB/Zach/AD/DH39
Bench:Caruso/Boogie/FA wing

Trade DG/Kuz/whoever we draft in 2020 for Lavine

Sounds good with LaVine, Boogie and Dwight but KCP plays well with LeBron and AD, gotta keep him too

I doubt that deal is enough for Lavine.

I think a more appropriate deal is for Spencer Dinwiddie. Nets, if they have Kyrie/KD back healthy could use DG's veteran play and Kuz would be a good fit there too.

I'm not a Dinwiddie guy. His 3-point shot is unreliable.

If not LaVine, another scoring SG/SF. Buddy Hield would be ideal, but I do not see the Kings making a deal that helps the Lakers.

I don't think Kuz (who will be a RFA in 2021), Green (expiring player whose productivity is decreasing) and a 2020 1st (which will likely be 2nd to last pick) is enough for Lavine or Hield. Only reason I'm advocating Spencer is he may actually be redundant on the Nets and a FA to be. He would bring much needed perimeter scoring and creation.

“Without any hesitation or anything like that, I was like, ‘Hell yeah, I’d come back and play for the Lakers,’” Howard told The Athletic following a Lakers off day in early January, shortly after his contract was guaranteed for the rest of the season. “Why wouldn’t I? For me, it was kind of like in my heart I was full of forgiveness towards the fans and how the situation ended. I think after that first stint I was super angry. I hated L.A., I hated all that stuff, but I had to let all that go. And it just made my life better.” – via Bill Oram @ The Athletic

Bruh is not saying “all the right things” if he still got live for MDA. (bleep) that guy and Phil was absolutely the right choice then and even now. Dwight, big ups to your redemption, but you should have allowed Jeanie to get her shot in.

Dwight was activated in this one. Hopefully, he's shaken off the rust. He's been looking progressively more like himself with each game.
