Penny Hardaway just got released. Why not make a run at him. I think he still has enough in his tank to help. After watching the team ball we played last night, we all have to be really excited. Not signing Spree was a blessing if we can get Penny. If we add Penny and play like last night, we should get into the second round of the playoffs.

Sorry, the guy is done. Have you seen him play this season? He is SLOW and I mean SLOW, really really SLOW.

Some of you may think that he's now similar to the late Ron Harper. Nada. He is more like todays Ron Harper... ...it's a shame.

We haven't seen him play for a long time so who really knows. The thing you want to consider is who he would be taking time from. Currently we feature Kobe and Parker backed up by Sasha and ?.

Hardaway could be a good pickup if he is actually trying to return. He would probably be one of the better shooters on the team right now.

Penny puts the one in DONE. Orlando is where it all started for him. If they didn't see any use for him, that says it all.

Penny returned to Orlando under the same coach (Brian Hill) who he
managed to get fired. So, the "Orlando is where he started" thing doesn't
really mean much in that case.

That said, I totally agree he's done.

The guy's missed over 400 games in the last 6 years.

He played 4 games this season with paper minutes.

He's done.

Even if he wasn't he's played like it every time I've seen him for years.

Penny

We could sit him and McKie on each end of the bench and make bookends out of 'em.

Why? We already have McKie warming that spot on the bench, what's the difference if you put Penny instead of Aaron on that spot? Besides, I think Mitch is already getting the offer sheet ready to bring Penny in for the MLE over the summer.

How many seasons did the Lakes sign Aaron to?

You know what would be special? If just one time after a player has been released for whatever reason, a thread doesn't immediately go up in here asking to add him to the Lakers roster...

9 out 10 times that player was dismissed for some seriously good reasons...

Yeah, he can be wiaved.

But why do that? I think they might as well try to play him when he gets back.

I mean the way Luke Walton has been playing recently with Laron gone for the season - the Lakers could really use a true Backup SG

McKie is a vet. Phil likes them vets.

That is true... The sad thing about Mckie is that he just cannot stay healthy for you. Do you know how valuable he would be by now had he been able to learn and, grow with the rest of the squad?
Also the prophet loss is huge. Prophet was keeping Dev on the bench at one point. Man I hope Laron can come back from that injury at 100% and the Lakers give him another look. I like his game...
