News via Woj:

Just shows that Kawhi knew exactly what he was doing and so did Paul George. The media is so biased against us. Imagine if the Lakers pulled this type of bs in free agency. The media and the league would have had a field day with it. Smh.

(This was originally posted in the Free Agency thread, but it deserves it's own discussion imo)

Like AD requesting a trade here to play with Kawhi and Lebron? George did nothing wrong or illegal, same as Davis.

You are the biggest contrarian ever, I swear.

The point is that Kawhi knew he wanted the Clippers all along and simply strung us + the Raptors along. It took that long to get the deal done, not because he couldnt make up his mind.

It wasn't illegal but if the Lakers knew they weren't going to get him they could've gotten better free agents. They waited around for something that wasn't going to happen.

This is complete speculation. No one knew what Kawhi was thinking even Cris Carter and Damon Jones were telling us that we had a good chance to land him leading up to FA... the reality is that the Clippers were fortunate enough to get a player Kawhi wanted to play with and that was the end of it.

Yeah that’s been my issue with how they kept the wishful thinking going and missed out on some moves while waiting for something that wasn’t going to happen in the first place.

AD requested a trade to play with Kawhi as a Laker? When was Kawhi on the Lakers with Lebron?

Complete hindsight bias. It's convenient to criticize when you've already seen the results. I don't know why it's so difficult for fans to realize that.

The PG situation is nothing like AD as PG bittched and cried twofold over AD. PG is a DOUCHE (both on and off the court). It may not be illegal what he did, but it was a weak and crappy thing to do. He should have never agreed to resign with OKC. OKC gave up a lot to the Pacers to get PG (Kudos to the Pacer who made out BIG TIME in the trade). OKC then got burnt a second time by PG. This franchise, who incredibly survived the losses of Harden and KD, is DONE thanks to PG (they would have kept the band together if he did not cry and was not a sneak).

Let's wait and see how much actual playing time the Clippers get out of their 2 new stars.

They both strike me as "load management" prima donas.

Sometimes the best "trades" are the ones a team fails to make.

Yeah I’m not sure Laker fans have a right to complain about this stuff after the Davis situation played out the way it did. In any event, this doesn’t seem like news. We knew the week it happened that Kawhi had used us for leverage. Smart of him to do, but also ya know, (bleep) him.

Everyone worthwhile was gone the first day of free agency.

That is on the Lakers and Raptors, they chose to play the free agent game. Kawhi had contractually earned the right to make that decision. He also did nothing wrong.

It isn’t complete hindsight, many here had Kawhi pegged as a Clipper before free agency even began. If one were shocked then they weren’t paying attention.

I don’t blame the FO for pursuing Kawhi but for guys who posters here think are tuned in to back channels more than Mitch was, they were out in left field. Even Lebron had no clue what Leonard would do.

So you think that AD was somehow sheltered from the talk that Kawhi was considering the Lakers?
