How in the world did the Clippers land Reggie Jackson on the buyout market??! He would have been the starting pg on the Lakers.
His agent
Perhaps he just feels the Clips have a better chance at winning a championship and he took the opportunity. Or liked the players or style of play more. Maybe Balmer bakes muffins every week.
Whatever the reason. So far no one seems to be clamoring to join this Laker team. Not a good sign.

VLF is right. Look at Mintz's client list to get a hint about why his relationship with our FO is not a good one: https://basketball.realgm.com/info/agent-client-list/Aaron-Mintz/58 _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

This one is 100% Mintz. We never had a chance. And PG's agent is...Mintz too. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
I think the Clippers adding starter-caliber players in Morris and Jackson likely makes them the favorites. But they sure do have a lot of people that need the ball in their hands to be effective. So while the Clippers roster is designed to reduce the burden on Kawhi as much as possible with multiple guys who can get their own shot off, it isn’t necessarily optimized to take advantage of his strengths either. On the other hand, the Lakers have placed an absurd burden on LeBron but are built to capitalize on the attention he draws. Time will tell which approach works better.
I also would love to know where this notion has come about that the Clippers have “dogs” but the Lakers don’t. Last I checked it was the Clippers who have been load managing while the entire Lakers roster has largely played through injuries. Sure Kawhi is a playoff beast but guys like Lou Williams, Paul George, and Reggie Jackson have been subpar in playoffs. For every Patrick Beverly the Clippers have, the Lakers have an Avery Bradley or an Alex Caruso that plays just as hard. And while the Clippers have guys who can be physical, it doesn’t get more physical than having Dwight Howard on your roster. Anthony Davis has shown he can be dominant in the few playoff series he’s had and Lebron has been one of the greatest playoff performers of all time.

Because the Clippers dogs bark a lot which gives you the impression that they are tougher and meaner when in reality, our dogs are bigger and will only attack when provoked. No useless barking. When its time for war ( playoffs) we will see who's dogs are really dogs.

Is Reggie Jackson still the borderline all-star level Reggie Jackson? Only shooting 38.4% this year. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Morris is not really an improvement from Harkless. More Jackson means less Pat Bev which will also add a hole in their defense.
I will be more worried if they have gotten a legit Center with a solid inside D.
This. The players they're picking up aren't suited for the roles they're being asked to play. They would've been better off with a player like Covington instead of Morris. Jackson serves no purpose unless every guard ahead of him is out. These are not the kind of players that are easy to integrate midseason or understand how to take a backseat and still impact the game. Very unnatural fit for both.
Jackson was brought in to give Lou some rest, he has been playing too many minutes. Beverly has been out as well, now they have more guard depth. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

He's 29 in a contract year, I would think he'd want more of a role than that. I'd expect him to take all of McGruder's minutes. Either way he's not the type of player to thrive with limited usage.
The hope as Lakers fans is that this will be a chemistry nightmare. You have Trez/Morris/Jax all being FAs next summer. They will want to make sure they get as much run as possible but they may have overstocked their roster in the hopes of playing keep away to the Lakers. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Or that PG or Kawhi won't be 100%. Not a hope, but more of an observation. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

Well, I don't hope for humans to be injured or hurt, but I do think the chemistry issue may be a problem. Clips have always had some sort of issue in the locker room even with Lob City Clips. Something about how Doc tries to make them the victims all the time or something. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Clippers are simply way better than the Lakers from 3-10. It will take our role players playing some incredible D to stay with them. Where we have an advantage (especially with PG looking like he is in decline physically) is the 1-2. However Lebron can not play passive. He has to be a monster and aggressive, like he was in the Denver game.
Either way, this summer we will likely need to upgrade in talent to keep the AD-Lebron championship window open. At least 1 major talent acquisition will be needed.

Well, for my part, I wouldn't hope anyone injured.
But I do agree we hope for some locker room damage. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

I would be in support of trading for a guy like Spencer Dinwiddie. We need some perimeter creation and LBJ can't be the only guy. Of course I'd also like some wing defenders too, but maybe we'll sign 9 SF-sized wing defenders next year. Rob seems like overstocking. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
7-0 Mcgee - 7-0 Zu (Tie)
6-10 AD - 6-8 Morris (W)
6-9 LBJ - 6-9 PG (W)
6-6 Green - 6-7 Kawhi (L)
6-3 AB - 6-4 Shamet (Tie)
Bench
7-0 Dwight - 6-8 Green (W)
6-8 Kuz - 6-7 Harrell (L)
6-5 Caruso - 6-4 Mcgruder (W)
6-5 KCP - 6-3 Jackson (W)
6-1 Rondo - 6-1 Lou (L)
Just looking at the roster, just don't know why the Clips is odds on favorite. If both clubs are healthy.
Basketball isn't played like that though. They have combos were they can continue sending waves of defenders at LBJ and have 5 20+ppg level scorers. They have continuity while our offense grinds to a halt with LBJ off (and even AD on). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Imo the Lakers showed some of the playoff plan in that game. PnR and screens to free up Lebron into attack mode.
The questions remain:
1. Can Lebron break down the switch and read the play quick (he’s good at this, but the clippers will have guys with the hands and taking space away).
2. Can the open man hit the shot. We are screwed if the open man is Rondo because they will never guard him make or miss. They will take that scenario 100/100. However the other guys need to knock down the open shot or Lebron and AD will be battling 4 clippers at all times and maybe all 5.
I imagine in the playoffs, Clips will do something like this:
1. start with Bev to just annoy/injure LBJ.
2. move to Morris to try to be physical with LBJ.
3. then put PG13 on him.
4. in crunch time, put Kawhi.
That is going to be one hell of a taxing run for LBJ to orchestrate the offense, dribble up against full court pressure from Bev AND be expected to guard one of PG13/Kawhi. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

This will be their game plan for sure. Good luck to 35 year old Lebron with no other playmaker to help.

In a vacuum, it's a toss up b/w a 35 year old LBJ and load management Kawhi. But it's not a vacuum. They will send waves. We better have an answer to that b/c if we can't even set up our offense, what good is it to have AD in the post? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

They weren’t interested in Dwight, he wouldn’t be a good match with Zubac. They have Green and Patterson off the bench, bigs who can shoot the 3 ball. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
