Marcus is obviously a better individual player than Mo Harkless, but I feel like Mo played a more defined and specific role for the Clips. He gave us trouble with his quickness and length, and didn't monopolize shots. At the beginning of the year I said if I were the Clips I would not trade Mo/1st for Iggy. I feel like Mo/1st was an overpay for Marcus. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

This loss was on Doc. That 4th quarter breakdown does sum it up. You can have all the individual 'defensive specialists' all you want but without proper team defensive concepts, it's still vulnerable and will be broken down by good offense. |

If it is a playoff matchup, there is going to be a few important factors:
1) How much does Doc play Lou and Harrell with their defensive issues
2) LBJ is comfortable hunting Morris. How much will he play?
3) Does Reggie Jackson play more if AB continues to pester Beverly bringing the ball up?
It felt like Kawhi deferred a bit in this game, maybe to send a message like you guys better listen to me now type of thing.
Maybe they run out of games to get the chemistry down, but it’s going to be a tough series especially if Lou and Shamet start making shots.
They have more of a ceiling because of their depth, but Lebron and AD playing like they did cancels it out.
Too close to call. We will most likely find out in the WCF. |

My central concern was always how one-dimensional we were. We only addressed our shooting on paper (our three best shooter signings are/were all guys that don't play (Daniels, Cook, Dudley)) and we were told Kuz would regress back to his rookie mean, while i thought he was already at it (and now he's actually below it). Add the lack of playmaking and it seemed we were just easy to scheme against. Those chickens seemed to be coming home to roost a few weeks ago. In the last two games, though, Lebron and AD have both flashed another gear. AD is playing way more physically and aggressively than I thought he ever did. It also helps that his jumpshot has been falling. Is this a blip or can it maintain? That'll be huge. But Lebron has clearly been saving a gear, and my god, he is just that damn good. |
Lakers secret weapon is more AD at the 5. They are saving that for the playoffs. Those additional 5-10 minutes he plays at the 5 will pay dividends with more spacing for Lebron and the rest of the team.
If you are going to knock Kuzma for his offense, you should give credit for him defensively. Danny Green will start making some shots and KCP has been solid as well. Morris additionally allows Kuzma to play the 3 which I'm hoping will improve his scoring as his legs will not be as tired from banging with 4s. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

That’s why they were barking at each other for missed assignments? PG complaining to the refs in the 4th quarter? |

The Clippers traded away Moe Harkless, Jerome Robinson (2018 13th draft pick), their 2020 1st round pick, and a 2021 2nd round pick from Detroit, for Marcus Morris.
Definitely an overpay. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

Let me see if I understand this:
When Clippers win and Lakers lose, the Lakers just can't matchup, LeBron is scared, and Doc is just a better coach.
When Lakers win and Clippers lose, Clippers didn't really care about that game and they were just taking it easy.
People are morons. Both teams wanted that game and Clippers wanted that 3-0 and to close the gap in standings. One team punched the other in the mouth and asserted their dominance. Our coach outreached theirs. Our stars greatly out played theirs. And we shut guys like Beverly up early.
I agree Clippers have not made getting the #1 seen their priority but they've given their all when it comes to beating us. |

No doubt. They have been obsessed with not losing to the Lakers.
They were barking at each other, complaining to the officials and postgame Beverly was so distraught he couldn’t say anything more than “no challenge.”
Not care my ass. |

Every single sign and slogan is targeting the Lakers. Everything they do is about the Lakers more than about themselves. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan |

It should motivate them for sure.

Skip the clown said the same thing too. I guess that's the message that the Clippers are sending right now. |

Yeah just watched that. And he keeps bringing up AB's 6 threes without mentioning the other players shooting way below their averages. In terms of outliers, the overall picture was a pretty standard performance form the Lakers. |

Don't forget people want to bring up Lou playing poorly.
Lou only scored 7! Would that happen again?
Well, Lou did score only 6 on the Christmas game.
He did score 21 in game 1 where Alex, Rondo and Kuz didnt play. And we didnt scheme for him, and PG wasn't available to take some shot attempts.
So he's averaging 11.3 ppg in 3 games against the Lakers. I think that can continue _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

It takes a special kind of delusion to convince yourself that this was a good move. |
You forgot winning 6 in a row once they worked him into the lineup. They didn’t do that with Harkless. |
Given how much of an atrocity those numbers are, I don’t think we can put that down to Morris, probably more likely Kawhi/PG |
Or the most likely, the Clipper team. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Convenient excuses from a franchise that's never won anything. I'm sure they didn't care about the previous 6 games they won for their streak, right? They cared enough to win those games, but not the actual benchmark game where both teams are at full strength on their "home" court. Got it. |

I just wished the camera man for ABC/ESPN zoomed in on Ballmer and Rivers’ faces more during the game.
I know I’m going to be biased in this particular scenario but it just seems like Jeannie and Frank conducts themselves in a more classier way. Win or Lose |

My hope is that they all continue bashing that the Lakers aren’t a great team and it’s all luck for a better lack of term.
More ammunition for our guys heading into the postseason.
Hoping Rob Parker, Ric Bucher, Momo, Rappaport and the other Lakers bashers get more airtime.
