Kawhi Leonard’s trainer lashes out on Paul George & Montrezl Harrell
Quote:
Many expected the Clippers to have major changes going into next season so they can capitalize on the time that Kawhi Leonard is there. The first change that came was the firing of head coach Doc Rivers.
Next will likely be some key players.
Two in particular could be Montrezl Harrell and Paul George.
Harrell is a free agent and the team might not want to bring him back and PG could get the team better players around Kawhi.
One person who won’t miss either guy if they aren’t back with the team is Kawhi’s trainer Clint Parks. He’s been vocal about his disdain for both guys and has even called Montrezl a double agent.
In regards to Paul George, Parks tweeted out: “PG basketball IQ questionable man.”
As for Montrezl Harrell, Parks had this to say when a fan asked if the Clippers should have gone after Lakers’ Dwight Howard: “Yeah wish they had him instead of double agent Trezz.”
I knew Montrezl wasn't going to return, but Kawhi souring on Paul George after 1 season when he spent all summer long trying to woo him to play together? _________________ Tacos

Doc didn't get fired cuz the Clippers lost. The Bucks lost, too, and their coach i not in the hotseat. What really happened is that one of the Clips star players let it be known to Ballmer that he didn't want Doc around anymore. So the real question is did Paula George or Kawhi Leonard sign off on firing Doc, and will Doc start making some comments about who backstabbed him on that team.
I trashed him all year. I called that he'd screw it up and they'd underachieve in the playoffs. I said he is the worst coach in the league with a championship ring (long before they lost to Denver). Thibs gets as much credit for that '08 Celtics chip as Doc does. Cause Thibs was the architect of that defense.
But the Clippers better be careful. There are more coaches out there worse than Doc than there are coaches better. Especially since their goal is to win a chip. I'm not sure any available coach gets them a chip next year. But alot of available coaches make them worse. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
After hours of back-and-forth, the sides concluded they had differing visions of the team’s path forward, leading to the mutual decision to separate after seven seasons together, league sources said.
From Rivers’ perspective, the Clippers’ roster was flawed, and he tried to make the best of a less-than-ideal situation. From the Clippers’ perspective, the team’s overwhelming status as the league’s championship favorites made their second-round collapse inexcusable, and was more of an indictment of Rivers’ coaching than the players’ performances.
Noise surrounding Rivers’ departure began to pick up about 24 hours ahead of his eventual departure. Still, the news shocked Clipper staffers, as well as rival league personnel. The prior chatter around the NBA was that Rivers, who joined the Clippers in 2013 and had two years left on his deal, would be given a shot at redemption next season.
The Clippers thoroughly analyzed every angle and variable they could think of before concluding that it was best to move on from Rivers, league sources said.
They considered the pandemic, the rigors of the Orlando campus and the team’s lack of continuity — with seven players arriving late or leaving the bubble at some point due to COVID-19 or personal tragedy — at the Disney World resort. They deemed that Rivers was dealt an unfavorable hand by any measure.
At the same time, they reasoned that many of the challenges the Clippers faced this season, including the team’s middling style of play and questionable rotational decisions, were still going to exist in the future. With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George potentially entering free agency in the 2021 offseason, that was a looming problem.
Even a relative return to normalcy during the 2020-21 season — certainly still up in the air — wouldn’t necessarily address some of the philosophical differences between Rivers and the organization. This wasn’t something that could simply be remedied by playing back in Los Angeles in front of Clipper fans or by the players and staff sleeping in their own beds again.

If George Paul is off of that team, a GREAT deal of my hatred for them will be gone. Still despise them as an organization (#2 dragging us along, Pat Bev, Morris trying to hurt everyone), but I never want to see George Paul win anything and will root against him until he retires.

Rivers: this team is garbage. Our two best players are redundant, our one big is immobile, and our best bench players are unplayable when the game gets tight and the defenses lock in. We have no player leadership.
Baller: but the reporters I pay say our team is the best!
Lakers are now favored to win the title for next season. Clippers were big favorites before Rivers got fired. lol _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

That's Kawhi being Kawhi. He's quiet which leads to building anger and frustration. He then has his minions talk to the press. He has serious passive-aggressive issues.
It's Kawhi's team now.
Something he was never going to get as long as Lebron was still on the Lakers.
The new look Clips will be remade in his vision for next season.
Looking forward to destroying the Clippers next season in the playoffs if they are able to actually make it to the WCF, or we can eliminate them in the second round.
There must be resentment from players that Kawhi can't playback to back games. They have to do all the work and carry his ass all season. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
We’re about to play a potentially dynastic Heat team. Who cares about the Clippers. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant

He wanted LA so it’s moot but he really had the perfect setup in Toronto. Hard to believe he left it. Elite coach. Elite FO. Team capable of performing at a high level if you need to sit. Elite young All Star teammate not even in his prime yet.
He left all that to play with Paul George. _________________ 14-5-3-12

But his vision was to trade away SGA/Gallo/billion picks for PG13. I think he wanted to play for Doc too. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

This is an obvious case where personality chemistry matters and had a great overall affect on the team. I wonder if the Lakers dodged a bullet, maybe 2, by not acquiring PG or Kawhi.
After the recent in-game confrontation between Harrell and PG, it didn’t sound like there was much goodwill and brotherhood on that roster.

What are the odds Ballmer rolls up a brinks truck to Phil Jackson's house? I think Phil is done. I think the league had moved on from the triangle long ago, but Ballmer is obsessed with LA and has this inferiority complex with the Lakers. Seems like something he would explore. Besides, he doesn't give a crap about money. He wants to win NOW!
I don't think Lue is his idea of an upgrade. Steve wants to make a splash.
