The Clippers are quietly playing some beautiful basketball, generating the most open looks in the league (especially as a percentage of attempts), with eight players shooting above 40% from three.

It's like the mentality has switched between the two teams.

Not a good prospect for the Lakers repeating...

I noticed this too. I guess the same main theme remains...will we see this PG in the playoffs or pandemic P.

But so far, the roles have been reversed. The 2020-21 Lakers are playing like the 2019-20 Clippers.

I don't want to rely on a PG letdown. PG, like him or not, is too good of a player.

Lebron and AD only got 70 days off in-between seasons. We all knew this was going to be a challenging season for them. Especially for Lebron who is 36 years old. KL and PG are obviously fresher being they got bounced in the 2nd round and got a lot more time off.

I'm not sure if I can buy into that often used excuse.

AD and Lebron had over 2 months to recover. Lebron is older, yes, but he's in extremely good shape, and he wasn't injured. AD is young, and wasn't injured. So what exactly are they recovering from that necessitates more than, say, a 30 day respite?

They can't be physically tired. They've each had over a month to lounge around in their mansions, waited on hand and foot, with their butlers to take care of the house, their personal chefs preparing healthy meals for them, and their personal therapists working to rehab the wear/tear from the season. Is it mental? Why? Why would you need a mental break from playing a game that you proved to be successful at?

We need to stop with this "only 70 day" business and be realistic. These are multimillionaire professional athletes who have recovery contingencies in place.

Agreed. We have to have the capability to beat them at their best instead of hoping and wishing PG or KL self-destructs when we meet them again.

For the record, I didn’t mean the Lakers are hoping for Pandemic P.

Just that the Clippers hopes rely on this version of PG.

Every team relies on their stars being the “ best version” of themselves.

Including the Lakers.

Yep, so if Clippers is relying on this version of PG in the playoffs, I think it will not happen, so I think they should have a backup plan if Pandemic P appears in the playoffs. Because if they are assuming that he will play like this in the playoffs, they will gonna choke again.

So if we make and win the Finals, nobody can say that our run was 'tainted' somehow. The Clippers, Celtics and Nets are all legitimate tough matchups. So we'd deserve full credit for overcoming them.

What if we don't end up facing them again

The most possible way for them to face the Lakers is in the 2nd round. I don't think they will reach the WCF.

Same goes for the Nets, I dont think they will enter the finals. I dont see Nets beating the Sixers or the Bucks. The Celtics has a chance though.

Hope so too, but I just can't take the Bucks seriously in the playoffs lol

Me too, but I think Giannis can pummel the Nets inside defense, unlike the Heat. Heat is a bad matchup for Giannis as they have many abled defenders on him. I dont see anyone who can defend Giannis in the Nets specially that they already traded Prince and Allen. Same goes with Embiid, nobody in the Nets team can defend him.

Bucks and Nets are playing next game though, we will see.

Nets would/will smoke Bucks in the playoffs. They match up well on paper (Giannis on KD, Middleton on Harden, Jrue on Kyrie) but eventually the talent will overwhelm Mil.

I wouldnt be sure about that, they dont have anyone in their lineup who can guard Giannis. Giannis can give KD a hard time, same with Middleton and Holiday guarding Kyrie and Harden. Talent with defense is still better than talent in offense alone.

Nets will destroy every team's defense and they will win playoff series by that. I won't spend too much time thinking about how they are going to stop Giannis or Butler because that's not how they are going to win games.

LMFAO this doesnt age well. Cant even destroy the worst offensive team in the league.

Durant didn’t play tonight, but yeah, Kyrie and Harden have the same problems as Harden and Westbrook. Two ball dominant players.

I’m seeing Clippers twitter is starting to talk (bleep) again. They never seem to learn to just keep quiet until you get out of the 2nd round

Really wished we went after Batum, underrated signing, a long defender who’s also shooting 50% and 47% from 3.

It would be nice to hear an update on the NBA investigation of the Clippers.

Respect the Clippers more this year than last, mainly because they haven't been trashing us all day every day.

Same. Much more professional.

As it stands, they are the biggest threat to the Lakers imo. We will see what happens when playoff pressure is on for them. Kawhi and Ibaka are the only real playoff proven players.

Looks like the Clips mean business so far this year. Looks like Lue and their offseason additions have been great. PG playing out of his mind (don't think its sustainable). Looks like he is trying put what happened to him in recent years in the past. Another playoff disappointment for PG might do irreparable damage to his confidence.

Meh. Clips had a 7 game win streak and were 14-5 last year. Their current 6 game streak saw them face 1 possible playoff team. You have to evaluate them after they've been stressed.

Ty Lue is an offensive mastermind. I consider him a LARGE upgrade over Doc Rivers. Some of the sets he ran with Cleveland were amazing.

I'd take Vogel over him though just because I prefer a defensive mindset

Everyone made fun of clippers for their loss. They definitely deserves it.

At the same time. everyone giving too much hype to Lakers. Clippers definitely improved their roster and playing with much better attitude. at the same time Rob and co Messed up big time and created a regular season roster. we added DS who wans to be a starting PG where he definitely doesn't belong. Come Playoff LBJ and AD will be forced to play huge minutes.
