Yeah, I'm wondering why he's doing so poorly this year compared to last year.

He's being utilized as a number 1 option on a team with no spacing and no playmaking. It's a structure which emphasizes all his flaws and sets him up to fail

He's not the no. 1 option in NY.
Actually he's taking less shots than last year, despite playing more minutes.

I agree with others. When and if we play the clips in the playoffs (who are we kidding?, we will)... We want them hopefully in the conference finals. Get kawhi all banged up and limping around against the likes of the nuggets, rockets Mavs, etc. That's why I think there's value in pushing for a top seed. at the same time, don't risk injury doing it.

And Dwight's gonna have to pull out some performances from the past and really take it to them.

Roll players traditionally play much better at home.
The number 1 seed is valuable regardless

If you miss the walls of text, you’ll find them in the General Basketball Discussion thread, still proclaiming Randle to be amazing.

I miss the “AD will not sign with us this summer and we’ll be doomed”.

Or you have the posters who make stuff up and then complain about what they made up.

I agree. Couldn't have described you better

Kawhi has made 19FTs though so good to see the refs still want the Clippers to win

37FTs for the Clippers. What a joke

The joke is Lebron is not even in the top 20 in free throw attempts this year considering he's always getting hacked on drives .

Yeah. It's annoying how shooters get all the FTs these days.

Anyway, for the people who think the Clippers have playmakers already - PG had 7 assists and 6 TOs, Kawhi had 2 assists and 8 TOs.

What percent of “Clipper Fans” like the Clippers more than the Lakers?

I hear Seattle needs a team

He has the highest usage and takes the most shots on the team.

While Randle was playing with us, I thought he was an above average defender. And I thought Lonzo and Ingram were elite.

After looking at guys like AD, Avery, Green and even Dudley on a near daily basis, and taking closer looks at guys like Kawhi, Siakim, etc., our (former) youth really had a long, long way to go.

I wish the best for them, but I also understand their limitations given the wider context of the NBA. I think when you have a very young team, you tend to dote on them more and it lends itself to more of a fishbowl experience.

There is a gap between Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, but it isn't a very big gap at all.

It's about letting an asset to for nothing. Don't think we could use an asset right now when we're pick-strapped and need a playmaker and a wing defender? He got 17 mil a year as an FA, which means he had value around the league. His stats playing an outsized roll on a crappy team doesn't change that.

I don’t disagree with you, but the other side is that it isn't always easy to trade guys. Sometimes you end up stuck with them. Randle's game never traveled well. He never had the type of game where you can throw him on a number of teams and he'd be successful. So in that sense, his trade value was never that high.

I would have held on to him because I am a pitiful, cheap, hoarding miser, but I can also acknowledge the other side of coin in this scenario.

IIRC, the Lakers & the Hornets tried to shop Randle, but neither could get a 2nd round pick for him.

I do not know if it was his contract situation or what - but each team tried to get an asset for him and each was rebuffed.

This ain't NBA 2K - they have to want what you're selling.

Jalen Rose said he think Lakers will the title because Lakers have the best interior defense while Clippers have excellent perimeter defense. He always prefers size during playoffs.

I think AD and Bron are superior to their duo as well. If both play upto their standards and we stay injury free, I think we will beat them. They don't have anyone to stop AD if rises to the occasion and Bron will always get his no matter who's guarding in the playoffs.

He’ll probably need to take the entire week off after exerting himself like that

That is today’s game and why some here have been complaining about our roster construction.

That was the popular opinion in 2002.

Dude, just stop

Kawhi and Lebron are not in the same stratosphere regarding playmaking

There's a reason why people around the NBA have been consitently calling Lebron the best PG in the NBA this season.

It looks like both the Lakers and Clippers are trying to ensure 1/2 seeds.

7/8 are going to be the lesser teams.

You got Houston, Dallas, Denver and Utah at 3-6.

Portland is a bit deceiving because if they get Nurkic and Collins back that’s not your typical 7/8 seed.

The use of random counting stats is comical. Pick one random stat out of one random game and Lebron wasn’t the best PG in the Laker-Heat game. We know that game was not normal. I’m sure that the Clippers missing their best PG last night had nothing to do with a random counting stat.
