Apparently the league has gone silent and the media does not find it a story. Just did a quick search and every article was three weeks old. Has anyone heard anything from any sports talk shows?

No follow up stories? Going to go out on a limb and say that if the Lakers were in a similar position with tampering accusations it would get a bit more coverage and journalists trying to get to the bottom of it.

With the Bogdanovic/Milwaukee case, the investigation was opened on November 19. The NBA announced the Milwaukee fine on December 21. So, the investigation took 32 days in a relatively open and shut case--one in which everyone agreed to the basic facts. In the Clippers situation, the investigation was opened on December 17. 32 days after that is Monday, January 18. If we haven't heard anything by then, I think that it means that the NBA has found evidence that implies that the Clippers may have done something wrong. This doesn't mean that the Clippers did anything wrong just that there is **something** that doesn't look right to the NBA investigators.

They have that jailbird type of basketball team vibe. Especially with those ridiculous uni’s and team floor. Looks like they’re playing in future prison.

Those types of teams rarely win it all.

This - I hate his takes and his all-things-Jeanie hatred, but I hope VLF is healthy and sane.

Checked out NBA stats this morning.

The Clippers are the oldest team in the league (29.2, followed by the Lakers at 29.1).

They are shooting an insane 43.6% from 3-pt (Lakers at a healthy 39.6%).

Where the gap exists so far in 2021? The Lakers are 2nd in defensive eFG% at .504 . . . the Clippers are 23rd at .550. Lakers are also 2nd in defensive rebound %, while the Clippers are 19th. Lakers are also tops in defensive FT/FGA (the refs cheat for us) while the Clippers are 21st. The only defensive area where the Clips exceed us is in opponent TO% - Clippers are 10th while the Lakers are 22nd.

Finally, Lakers are #1 in DRtg while the Clippers are 26th - 26th!

It's early and every team is still trying to gel, but the numbers indicate (to me) that the Clippers have slipped dramatically on the defensive side, even as they are cooking offensively. That makes them even more vulnerable to an early playoff exit.

The Lakers and Clippers have had roughly the same Strength of Schedule and the Lakers only have 2 more wins, but if the statistics bear out over 72 games, the Clippers won't be around to play us deep in the post season.

There's a reason Raptor's fans felt that Marc Gasol was more important in anchoring their defense than Ibaka was.

Excellent analysis...they are their best D'Antoni impression.

Numbers wise, the Clips were MUCH better defensively last year. Again, it's early, but did the loss of Doc/Trezz/JaMychael Green make THAT much of a difference?

Our test in the West will be the Clippers. But if we're healthy we'd beat them.
Our test in the East will be the Nets or Celtics.

So if we make and win the Finals, nobody can say that our run was 'tainted' somehow. The Clippers, Celtics and Nets are all legitimate tough matchups. So we'd deserve full credit for overcoming them.

I just don’t see them as the same juggernaut of last season. I still think they are the Lakers biggest threat in the West but a team like Dallas has closed the gap imo.

As the defending champions, I think you have that backwards - the Lakers are the test for those teams. If we win the chip without playing any of those teams you listed, THEY are the ones who lose legitimacy. Back 2 Back banners wouldn't need any validation.

Age wise, many of there main role players are getting way up there in age which is another issue imo.

There defense has taken a huge step back and they're not nearly as deep. On top of that both Kawhi and especially PG are shooting out of there minds from 3 and barely pulling out wins a lot of nights. No way they keep it up at the current clip. It's still early but without any big moves which they have pretty much no ammo to make I just don't see the Lakers losing a series to them at all this season. They are clearly still the biggest and only real obstacle in the WC but we'll how the landscape looks once the Playoffs begin because a couple moves could move up some of the fringe contending WC teams.

That is they need to be there to face the Lakers and not falter earlier in the playoffs.

Then we walk through whomever else is in the Finals.
