Whenever we have a lead in the 2nd half, especially the fourth quarter, LeBron walks the ball upcourt and just dribbles the ball in place until there's only a few seconds left on the shot clock. This forces us to take a bad, contested shot to beat the shot clock.
This is a really bad habit, and it allows the other team to get back into the game by virtue of turning those bad shots we miss into fast break opportunities.
LeBron's been doing this for as long as I can remember, but it seems like he's taken it to a new extreme this season. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

he's been better since rondo is back. but as soon as rondo got ejected, he went back to that s---. it was all turnovers, bricks, fouls.....horrible. but hes been good since rondo came back so hopefuilly that was just a last case scenario. |

It's tactically sound but Lebron drains too much off
Vogel and AD will have to get on him about it |

It's def. frustrating at times.. At least attempt to get an easier shot with a few passes and if nothing happens then let him do that at the end of the shot clock since they're usually tough contested shots anyways. |

LeBron was passing the ball up the floor quickly in this game more than I remember him doing previously. |

It really is not working and hopefully Frank is discussing it. Running out the clock and hoisting up a crazy shot is a momentum killer. You may be able to get away with it against crap teams, but the good teams will kick you in the balls. Keep your throat on the opposition's neck and strangle the fuock out of them. This milking the clock reminds me of when football teams play the prevent D and let opponents back in the game. |

I agree and it almost lost us the Thunder game, the difference in the game ended up being KCP's 3-pointer with 2.4 seconds left in the first half...! _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”

Two games in a row he let his little buddy cp3 body him up in the post and nearly cost them the game.
Props where they’re due cp3 is a great defender against bigger opponents but cmon make an adjustment |

yes, thats not the point of the criticism. and we are a good team, and yes we are winning a lot.
i think the observation here in this thread is about when rondo went out, and lebron started holding the ball like he did in the first few games when rondo was out also. so just the last few minutes, not the entire game.
so while i get that the record is good so nothing to worry about, it really is a concern to see him doing that because the plays are REALLY bad. if AD wasn't on fire, we might have lost, etc. KCP was on fire too, and this momentum was all before rondo went out.
but I do feel lebron and the team is aware of it. you can see they've not been doing that for several games now and it has been great. so i think this was just an emergency case. |

Early in the season while teams are still installing offenses and/or getting new players acclimated, they depend more on transition opportunities and offensive volume. Choking that out can benefit you defensively. Later in the season and against better teams, offensive execution improves and the tactic isn’t as effective.
For now while they are figuring things out, it’s fine. Longer term, they will be better with greater offensive volume. |

With Schroeder right behind him waiting to trap. He was waiting for someone to cut but no one did. Had to settle for a fade away with the clock running out. |

that was so sad to see. reminded me of when tony parker gaurder him in the finals, and lbj would just pass and not dribble so he wouldn't f it up.
lbj needs a head of steam and/or off arm pushing to do his thing. once he is holding the ball and stopped, you can see how severely limited he is. we almost lost the game just with a few minutes of this. no matter what, we cant allow the game to be like this. he has to keep fighting this urge. always be moving and never get stuck holding the ball. let rondo, ac4, kcp, etc. anyone else hold the ball. lbj needs to just move, attack, suck defenders away. we are not going to get consistent positive results with a lebron iso of any sort. |

It seriously might serve as Lebrons version of "load management" where he is almost complacent and isnt mentally and physically engaged throughout the entire possession. In other words, a break |

100%
if AD didnt fly in for that miracle tip in (holy cow what a play)...lebron would have lost the game shooting those 30 foot bombs, man....stop taking those....espeically in close games. take them when we're up by 20 only. |
