SAME AS IT EVER WAS

Per Trudell

Frank Vogel said Dion Waiters will again be inactive tonight with the groin injury. Everybody else is available.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1304171113044307970?s=21

Frank Vogel is opting to wait until it’s NBA mandated to release his starting lineup. That comes 30 minutes before tip off (which today is 3:30 p.m. Pacific). In the 2nd half last game, they started small w/Markieff Morris at the 5.

WELL HOUSE...

Per McTen (Press Release at Link)

Danuel House will not be returning to the Lakers-Rockets series.

https://twitter.com/mcten/status/1304539229414993920?s=21

Per Ahmed

What’s interesting is that there is no fine or punishment mentioned in the NBA statement, simply that Danuel House “is leaving the NBA campus” and will not participate in any more games.

If people look at the injury report for tomorrow's game they'll see Rondo listed as questionable with back spasms.

I'm hoping it's just the Lakers playing mind games

STICKING WITH MCGEE

Per Haynes

Los Angeles Lakers intend to keep JaVale McGee in starting lineup for Game 2 of the WCF against the Denver Nuggets, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

https://twitter.com/chrisbhaynes/status/1307808109923045387?s=21

CONFIRMED

Per Trudell

Same starters for the Lakers as usual, with JaVale McGee back in after Dwight Howard started the 2nd half of Game 1. Frank Vogel brought Howard in to defend Jokic in the 2nd Q, and Howard was very impactful. He’ll surely spend time on Jokic tonight once again.

WAITERS MAKING A COMEBACK

Per Goon

Dion Waiters, who has been inactive with a groin strain since Game 2 against Houston, is on the court warming up. Seems like a positive sign for his availability for tonight against the Nuggets.

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1308554413305462784?s=21

Nope. Not Yet.

The Lakers have submitted their lineup to the league and Waiters remains inactive.

Per Tania G

Alex Caruso has some soreness in his right wrist and will get a precautionary MRI later today. Danny Green has an injury to the ring finger of left hand. Both will be listed as probable, Vogel says.

NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS

So no updates on Danny or Alex yet today which means in all likelihood they’re fine and playing. Alex was presumed to basically be fine unless they saw something in an MRI. So far no one is reporting any updates. Will post if they do.

Dwight Howard will start at center tonight, joining LeBron, AD, KCP and Green for Game 4.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1309288670537474048?s=21

Per Goon

Frank Vogel reiterated yesterday that Howard needs to be more conservative with how he fouls.

AD’S QUESTIONABLE IS QUESTIONABLE FOR SATURDAY

Per Goon

Anthony Davis is listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game. He was getting treatment on the left ankle he turned in Game 4 today during the Lakers’ gym session. Frank Vogel suggested today he would be “good to go.”

TRUDELL’S THREE THINGS

No real definitive news yet but here’s a little tidbit that Trudell did that mentions AD

Per Trudell

My 3 Things to Know ahead of tonight’s Game 5, with a look at AD’s ankle, the foul/free throw comparison and LAL’s improvement on the boards and with turnovers:

Clearly Trudell learned from John Ireland well, just summarizing AD’s ankle from when he got hurt and all the updates we ALREADY knew, nothing new here. I swear, next time any of the Laker broadcasts breaking something new will be the first.
