BATTLE OF ATTRITION - AD AND CARUGOAT QUESTIONABLE - But So Are Simmons and Embiid

Per Goon

After missing Sunday’s game, both Anthony Davis (sore right knee) and Alex Caruso (sore right hamstring) are questionable for tomorrow’s game against Philadelphia.

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1234669563951730688?s=21

Recall, also, that neither Ben Simmons nor Joel Embiid are expected to play. Lakers have been pretty conservative about resting guys with minor ailments lately, so one wonders how that might influence decisions.

WAITERS SIGNED - NOT EXPECTED TO PLAY JUST YET

Per McTen

Dion Waiters will participate in pregame shooting drills at Staples Center tonight but there’s no plan to play him against the Bucks, sources tell ESPN. The Lakers intend to take their time with Waiters’ integration so he can get up to speed.

BACK TO CORONA (probably not funny inside joke)

Per Shams

Sources: The NBA has sent a memo to its franchises explaining that, due to coronavirus outbreak, teams should be preparing to play games without fans in attendance and identifying “essential staff” present for these games -- should it be necessary.

https://twitter.com/shamscharania/status/1236122231656378373?s=21

Per Stein

Postponing or canceling any game due to the coronavirus is a league office decision but the NBA, sources say, has notified teams to start "developing" contingency plans in case "it were to become necessary to play a game with only essential staff present" -- no fans, media, etc

https://twitter.com/thesteinline/status/1236122624469557248?s=21

Among the measures that the NBA wants its teams to start preparing for is the possibility --- if the situation worsens --- for instituting "temperature checks" on various players, team staff members, referees and anyone else deemed "essential" to stage a game in such conditions

https://twitter.com/thesteinline/status/1236125307263950849?s=21

(Not necessarily related but)

Per Woj

Steve Clifford left Magic’s game after feeling ill and will be examined at a hospital in Minnesota.

NBA IN THE AGE OF CORONAVIRUS...A Series...

Per Woj

Reporting with @WindhorstESPN: NBA is planning to limit locker room access to only players and essential team personnel in wake of coronavirus. Teams are also instructed to create a 6-to-8 foot distance between players and media in availability sessions outside locker rooms.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1237131647667011584?s=21

League told teams these are among recommendations of infectious disease and public health experts. Essential team personnel in locker room would include coaches, front office, basketball staff, PR staff, etc).

CORONALAKERS

Is preemptive testing a thing? I thought there was a shortage of tests as it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Per Tania G

Asked if the organization is offering pre-emptive coronavirus testing, or if anyone has asked for it, Vogel says no to both to the best if his knowledge.

AD AND CARUSHOW LIKELY ONBOARD AS WELL

Per Goon

Dwight Howard is AVAILABLE tomorrow against the Rockets after missing yesterday’s game with an upset stomach. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Alex Caruso are all PROBABLE.

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1237844639064842242?s=21

We’ve been told Caruso’s latest ailment is a left hand contusion.

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1237844775639760896?s=21

(TRock note - which if you saw the game you’ll remember when it happened. Alex reached in to foul someone and it looked like he jammed his hand. Glad it’s nothing major. )

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT (I Posted This in the COVID-19 Thread Earlier)

So Rudy Golbert got sick after touching all the mics, etc (he wanted to make a point) on his way out of a post game presser. And now the Utah/Thunder game is in jeopardy while they test to see what exactly is ailing Monsieur Golbert

Per Royce Young

Both teams are heading to their locker rooms. I think the game might’ve just been called.

https://twitter.com/royceyoung/status/1237894589878394880?s=21

Just heard official Ben Taylor say he doesn’t exactly know what’s going on, but that he’s been asked to delay the game. It hasn’t been officially called, but players did wave at fans as they walked off the floor.

https://twitter.com/royceyoung/status/1237894940841082880?s=21

Per Shams

Utah Jazz All-Star Rudy Gobert has tested positive for coronavirus, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Sources say Gobert is feeling good, strong and stable — and was feeling strong enough to play tonight.
