With the whole D-League stuff and all the talk about "sending guys down" to improve them... what the hell happened?
Did the D-League even start yet?
Did we send ANYONE there?
Because way at the start of the season, Phil was thinking about sending Sasha, and he was pissed. Same for Bynum. I don't think either of them ever went. They were always with the Lakers.
Same goes for Laron Profit, Devin Green and such.
Or did we just not send anyone because we all know the D-League is useless?
Anyone wanna help me out with those answers, thanks a bunch. _________________

Too many injuries to send anybody down to D-League. There should be more teams in California soon, Bakersfield just picked up a franchise. They will be affilitiated with 2 NBA teams instead of the 4 currently. The Kings will be one of the teams assigned to Bakersfield (crap!), the owners said it was unlikely that the Lakers or Clippers would be the other team. So expect a franchise soon in So. Cal. _________________ Started posting on Lakersground when it was lakers/rivals.com since Aug.2000. |

What exactly is your question? Are you asking if the developmental league exists? Because it does...it's called the NBDL, and the Lakers are affiliated with the team from Fort Worth.
If you're asking what happened to guys on the team actually GOING to the NBDL...well, I think only Phillip can answer that question. But Turiaf went down for a few games. There was a thread about it not too long ago. |

I never thought the D-League would really improve anyone. It's borderline NBA 8th/12th man talent all fighting each other to make rosters.
I do think there needs to be more 1 on 1 instruction from great players (like Kareem for the Lakers). Bynum is benefitting more by staying on this team than getting floor time in the D-League. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I think players are improved in the D League if what they need is actual game experience and the chance to work out the kinks and bad habits.
Guys like Bynum and other Lakers wouldn't necessarily benefit because:
a. No one runs the triangle.
b. There are hardly any back to the post big men in the NBA game so he wouldn't see it there.
Guys in systems that run flex, motion and iso offenses would have the ability to run, but yes the comp just ain't the same. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.
