McGee and Howard don't need to play 40 mins. Ad should have been in the post all game long instead up around the 3 point line trying to either shoot long J's or drive.

He would save so many steps if he was already on the block and can create for shooters or cutters from their too. I know he isn't going to be there all the time, but he should be a lot of the time. He was our biggest mismatch last night and we had him playing like a small forward.

Hopefully when Kuz is back we see a lot of AD/Kuz/LeBron/Green/Bradley

For now, who's supposed to play PF? And if you want to slide LeBron up, then who's playing SF?

This.

I thought they were forcing the ball to him in the post too much, and he was a bit soft when he got it.

I did, he was catching it too much in the mid post, should have been lower. Seemed like it was too clogged with McGee and Howard. Sometimes he got it up by the free throw line. A lot of wasted time dribbling and facing up.

He's always been as face up post player. Not a back you down over power you type.

He's not Shaq and midpost touches are his game. This is who the Lakers traded for.

I think it’s pretty well known AD doesn’t want to play center. I wonder if he doesn’t like the banging he gets when he gets the ball down low with his back to the basket.

The problem was more LEBRON having googly eyes for only Davis in the post. Lebron didnt really want to pass it to anyone else....and the lane was clogged for all his drives to the basket...it was a strange game.

AD doesn't want to play C, so be it.

But the Clippers played their only center for 9:38 of the game. Harrell basically played "Center" the rest of the way. Our Centers combined for 36 minutes. So, AD was matched up with Green or Patterson half the time, both shooters with little inside game. This undermines him as a help defender.

When a true C is not in the game, McGee or Howard should not be playing. I don't care if we put Dudley at C, but AD needs to be the biggest man on the court.

When the opponent goes small it's impossible to go big unless your bigs can shoot. Zone defense and help has stymied any possibility of a twin towers offense.

Perhaps Kuz can play the 5 if AD is the 4? At least against the lineups the Clippers threw at us last night.

Actually, it's the exact opposite of this thread title. AD needs to have FEWER post ups. They ran like 50 ISO post up plays for him last night like it was the 90s again. That stuff isnt going to work in todays league. Vogel needs to do a better job of getting AD easier looks and moving without the ball more. I get posting him up in ISOs when he has a clearly smaller man on him on switches but last night was absurd.

AD looked like Kareem posting up, 1980's throw back. That looked like the coach is living under a coma for 40 years!

If ISO and posting up were still the way to go, Melo would have a job and traditional 5s wouldn’t be close to being completely extinct.

You underestimate the strength of defenders rooting him out, especially Montrez. Last night wasn't the best team to post up against. Maybe we should have gone to more pick n rolls.

why do we need both javale mcgee and dwight howard on this team? both of them are exactly the same player. having one of them on the court with AD would force AD more on the perimeter. this team just so stupidly constructed. we've been wanting a stretch PF for quite a while now and yet we're still searching.
