I do like how the team looks so far but my only complaint is the offense.

It seems to me like we don't really have an offensive system.

For the most part its either

A) Let LeBron do his thing

B) Post up AD (It seems when we do this all movement off ball completely stops and everyone just ends up watching)

It's so nice watching Lakers game where they haven't given up 70 points at half.

The last two game if Luke was coaching, we would be in a dog fight and needed a miracle to win.

He would sub in weird rotation to kill our momentum when we are clawing back or make sure we don’t extend the lead.

Vogel is the best coach we have for a long time.

And he is basically just doing common sense stuff, but what a breath of fresh air that a coach can actually do stuff that makes sense.

Though give Vogel props, he is able to find minute for Caruso who is a big contributor in crucial moment that just doesn’t show on the stats sheet.

Luke would never in a million year be able to do that.

I really feel bad for Sacramento, though anyone who is stupid enough to hire him desire it, it is clear he can’t coach watching the Lakers game from last year

Given the choices: Monty, Lue, and Vogel, Vogel is clearly the right guy for this job.

If we get Iggy, good lord. The defense is crazy.

I like how so far the Lakers tend to play better in the second half and once they build up a big lead, they don't give it up. The last couple years, none of the big leads were safe.

I love the way this team is playing early, they rely on their defense until the offense can get going. Sometimes it looks like there's 6 guys on the court, flying around, disrupting passing lanes and contesting shots. This team can shoot horribly and still be in games because of their defense first mentality.

I also don't mind they are the slowest paced team if they continue to focus on playing soul crushing, physical defense. You can see the opponents energy slowing wanes when they get hit with that 3rd quarter run.

The Mavs and Spurs games will be a good test as to how good the Lakers defense.

Frank said they want to be a physical, smash you in the mouth type of team, looks like the Lakers may become that.

I say coaching staff + roster makeup + opponents.

Interesting trend is against 2 poor teams, we have really been sluggish for the first 2 Qs. Then explode in the 3rd Q and the game is out of reach.

How can we pad that lead up earlier? Team has been coming out flat. We were down what, 15-2 at one point?

I think getting Rondo and Kuz back will be huge. Finally a full team for Vogel to scheme with. LeBron can just be in attack mode when he’s not primary PG

Right. It starts with him. If he leads by example by coming out with energy, it'll carry over to the other guys. The dilemma, though, is that it's a tough thing for him to do every night due to his age. It's a long, long season.

so need someone to run the offense early on but does that mean putting Rondo in starting line up? who goes to bench, Bradley? doesn't sound right

Interestingly AD gets going in the first half most games.

I think due to age, it takes a bit longer for LBJ to warm his body up. So in the interim, AD is doing a bit more of the scoring.

The offense has looked a lot better the last 2 games. We scored 120 in back to back games, and the pace has been better as we had 27 fast break points last night.

At the very least, Vogel is talking about playing an uptempo game. Our halfcourt sets look better also, we're not as stagnant as we looked the first two games.

I really like how we've come out the last 3 games like gangbusters in the 3rd quarter. That seems to be a trait that great teams have.

Imo Vogel has an opportunity to gain a reputation as one of the better coaches in the league, if our offense becomes as strong as our defense. Doc Rivers and Rick Carlisle weren't considered good coaches until they won the championship, and since they've been considered two of the best.

It's almost like going from Kwame to Pau where it's so mind blowing that the guy can do something so simple like catch the ball. When Vogel talks you can just hear the experience on his voice and it's such a huge difference from Luke.

The good thing about Frank Vogel is that he is young so if he ends up being a great coach, he can become another Phil Jackson for us or even better depending on rather AD re-signs with us and we get another star to pair with AD... good times ahead.

You aren't kidding.

I am all for a "youth movement" but not one with a squad of matadors.

That can be credited to coaching, but also remember this is the first time in years that they've had a veteran team. In fact, a lot of these veterans have played on championship teams.
