True. I shouldn't say pointless.
There is the fun factor. I should have said, it rarely produces an amicable majority agreement. |

Thanks! But I've also incorrectly used that term as well. So clarifying. |

I think prime Kobe
Reason being is Kobe is better closer and the reason is because he has a better jump shot especially midrange.
When the game is tied in the closing seconds, the midrange jumper is a good go to. Simply because trying to hit a contested 3 is a lower percentage shot and going to the rim has risks like the defense may collapse and the guy you want open isn’t open. Or you get fouled and the refs don’t call it because refs don’t like to make calls in closing seconds.
So Lebron would fail here more than Kobe.
You Might have seen this last year when Giannis kept trying to bulldoze to the rim against the Raptors only to meet by a defensive wall.
Luckily the Lakers have guys like AD now that can be relied better in these situations. |

Yeah. Imagine Lakers down 2 with LeBron at the line with only a couple seconds left in the game. Someone please lie to my face and tell me you wouldn’t be sweating bullets Lol |

Kobe beats Lebron in mid range shooting. Free throw shooting. 3pt Shooting. Shooting.
Lebron pretty much beats Kobe in every other facet of the game.
This debate is always a tough one because they’re ultimately two different players. One guy will literally tear your heart out by scoring 40-50 on any team in the league any given night. The other guy will drop a 30-40 point triple double on any team in the league any given night.
Both in their primes Kobe’s on ball defense might be a little better. He’s a bit quicker off the dribble and guarding it.
Lebron is more athletic and gets up a little higher on his vertical clearance hence all those classic chase down blocks off the glass.
As for leadership qualities most will say it’s completely one sided in Lebron’s favor.
I feel Kobe’s leadership style is still great just not soo user friendly. He’s not gonna put his arm around you and say it’s okay you missed the game winning shot. Or will he be caught tagged in your social media live stream. He was a bit more too himself. Definitely more in your face during practice. Doesn’t give a damn if he hurt your feelings go hard or go home. Can’t say it wasn’t effective as he lead his Lakers teams to 5 chips.
Lebron is completely the opposite and with the hard work pays off attitude.
TBD on how many Chips he will bring to LALA land |

Lebron dissapears when the time comes for deliverance.
look to 3-6 finals record and game one of this season. fills up the box score, but start hastagging #washed king after games against kawhi in western conference finals
untill then, Kobe forever....... _________________ "Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones." - KB |

Great post
Don’t buy the leadership comparison totally, however.
When things are going great, LeBron brings those qualities you mentioned.
When they’re not, watch out. Quick to play passive aggressive and throw teammates under the bus. He has too much organizational control, so I wouldn’t be able to fully trust the guy if I were on his team.
Kobe didn’t switch between leadership styles depending on the situation. He was much more consistent. He was always a dick |

Yea, I feel like I can trust Kobe late game more than Lebron especially in terms of FTs. But man, can Lebron carry you through a game. |

One we brought home from the hospital and raised from birth. The other we adopted at 16. Not a tough call for me.

Yeah. that's why LBJ has won with clutch plays by guys like Kyrie and Allen. But make no mistake, he carried a lot of his team to that point, but he isn't exactly the most reliable guy to carry you to the end. But I do think LBJ gets unfairly criticized at times for making the textbook right play. Remember that pass to Donyell Marshall (correct play). Or even look at that Danny Green game tying 3 recently, that was also the correct play.
I just think it's fundamentally difficult to compare Kobe with LBJ. LBJ will never win that argument here as we are all diehard Lakers fans and Kobe was with us for 20 years. But I also want to try to inject some objectivity to this while also enjoying the hell out of LBJ right now. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
