All right, time for my 1st thread.

Who was the first Laker that stole your heart and condemned you to a life as a Laker fan forevermore?

For me: Nick “The Quick” Van Exel

The first time I ever saw this brash young baller I was hooked on hoops forever. He and Eddie Jones brought me so much happiness and joy.
Watching Nick shadow boxing back down the court after sinking a three was my favorite thing. 😎

I’ll always love that dude and am thankful I got to watch him in the Purple and Gold. How about you? Who was your 1st?

Magic Johnson the rest was history. All that said I've always cheered for the front of the jersey even after losing guys like Eddie Jones and Van Exel it's always been the front of the jersey.

Lets go Lakers!

Magic for me. So much fun to watch and I was just getting old enough to understand the game when he came into the league.

Wilkes/Kareem/Magic

Oct 12, 1979. 20 foot layups, no look passes, Skyhook for the win! My first Lakers game, 4 decades ago. Been a great ride!

I wish I had been able to really experience his genius.
I grew up in LA but didn’t start getting into sports until middle-school.
But I remember we had a kind of assembly after school to watch Game 1 of the Finals vs Chicago.
It was just a few short years later when I would actually start shooting hoops with friends after school. Then we would watch the Lakers at night.
Great memories

Lol. Alright

I used to hate going there.
I was watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon there. And if you don't know, the movie is in Chinese so there's subtitles. And this dad was freaking reading the subtitles to his daughter throughout the movie.

The ladies sitting behind him were in disbelief.
I was to his left so I was annoyed.
Guy was reading one part and he got stuck on a word and he just said, "whatever." The ladies and the rest of us around him started cracking up. Unfortunately that didn't stop him from attempting to read the rest of the subtitles.

Cool story bro.

Man. Career 37%. Nice.
He was also very healthy minus the 89 finals
