At first I was pissed off for him subbing out Danny Green for Kuz thinking it should of been AC or Avery.
I was wrong. Big props to Vogel for that decision |
Yeah, I thought we were going to lose when Kuz came in for Green. I was wrong! Kuz was on a roll. Happy to see it! |
Because you were used to Garbage luke.vogel is a real coach no need to second guess him . |
I'm seeing a big difference with Vogel over Luke. Huge difference. I remember Luke's WTF lineups! But with Vogel... KCP plays like crap? He gets the hook in the second half until he improves. Caruso fights hard on defense? There he is at the end of games alongside Bradley and Green.
And to think, a year ago we were treated to 35 minutes per game of small ball, with Luke and his frat buddies playing everyone out of position and even trotting out Josh Hart as a Power Forward FFS! SMFH.
Yeah, I like Vogel so far. Kudos to the all star assistant crew Vogel has around him too for that matter. |

Vogel probably felt comfortable with Kuzma in that situation also because the style of game it was, a high octane offense first kind of game, Kuzma fits that style of play.
I am sure if it were a slower more defensive minded game, he does not go to Kuzma as easily there.
But if Kuzma makes his 3 pointers and is not a defensive liability, he is an asset. It also helps that in this game a lot of Kuzma's minutes were at the 3, or with Lebron, who is so big, he is the team's defacto PF anyway. |

I may be a tad bias, but does it seem there is a pattern forming with the way this team is being officiated? It just seems, more often than not, a foul committed by the Lakers isn't always a foul committed by the opponent when its damn near the same thing. |

Have to ask. Is this sarcasm
Vogel is a pleasant surprise. I didn't know much about his coaching acumen. This staff as a whole is a huge upgrade over last years. I'm sure Kidd and Hollins are somewhat responsible for the teams success so far this season.
IMO Luke was a Lakers loyalty hire. His resume was a winning streak with a stacked Warriors team.
His showing so far in Sacramento is abysmal and that's being kind. IMO the squad is better than their record.
I think the Lakers loyalty is also responsible for that hire. He was picked up by Sacramento almost immediately after being let go by the Lakers.
I wish him luck but to date he's shown to be a good assistant coach. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Exactly what I've been saying about Kuz. From the minute he was drafted by us, from summer league to rookie/soph seasons, he always played an uptempo style with us. You have to play with a different mindset in a slower offense and pick your spots wisely.
Postgame interview he said what I've been repeating, it's all rhythm and timing. He's always been a rhythm player who syncs with ballhandlers and cuts at the perfect time. His timing has looked off. It's gradually getting better. Still needs to show more on defense. |
