has anybody heard about Cheryl Millers report on tnt?
Saying something about KG will only leave if he demands and if and when he demands his desied destination is L.A.? |

Wow.
I'm kind of jaded and numb to any KG threads.
But Miller reports via ESPN - who despite being an evil empire, are also
pretty cautious about their sources (far moreso than most internet sites
at least).
With that in mind, if she really heard that through a source and it got aired
nationally - I'd really like to catch what she said. |

I watched the game on LeaguePass last night.
And I muted it at the half like I always do.
I have this sneaking suspicion that if I mute Haley, and I don't hear him,
that maybe he loses some of his ability to "Haley" a game or trade |

If I were in control here I would go uber JD and ban anyone who came up with a theory of a trade now that the deadline has passed, even if someone on a national televised event said something about a player .e. Cheryl Miller on KG.
I have fallen off my rocker! |

The only time I mute, change the channel, or even turn the T.V. off is when that stupid "good ol boys" commercial comes on. That is the only commercial in my life that actually makes me mad.
I hate that guy!!! |

yeah that guy does have that crap eating grin on his face when he sings it. My family can't stand that vontage (sp?) commercial with that guy you-whoing in the the background. I guess us talking about commercials we hate makes more sense than seeing KG in a Laker uni (before the offseason ) |

My best bud hates that one. I don't like it, but it doesn't get to me as bad
as it does with him.
I gotta say those "NBA Cares" commercials are WAY WAY WAY beyond
beating a dead horse.
We get it.
The NBA cares, and David Stern is sleeping with Rob Thomas.
Stop rubbing our noses in it |

Two problems with your proposal:
1) Value: The 3 Laker players you mentioned do not amount to what KG gives you, both production-wise and intangibles (i.e. hoop sense)
2) Do you really believe that Minn will trade a perennial All Star and future HOF'er for two underachieving non-All Stars and one unproven prospect?
Think about it. Lurch would be making the same mistake Kupchak did in the Shaq/Odom deal. How did that turn out for us? |

We can't top what the Bulls could offer for KG--2 First rounders in 06 (which could both be top 3 picks), and a collection of young talent (some combo of deng, duhon, gordon, and nocioni). Not to mention they're an east conference team. What do we have? Odom and Bynum and the Miami pick. Only way that works is if no other team makes an offer for KG, since pretty much every team in the NBA can offer a better deal, except for the Knicks. |

dcarter4kobe, future note, if you start a thread with "how bout this deal" and I see KG going to the Lakers for any players besides Kobe, I'm all for it, so will most of the sane fans that don't overvalue the guys on the roster. I love having Bynum in LA, but anyone is tradeable for a dominant duo. The only reservation about a KG deal is the amount of pressure on the team. It will be worse than the 2K4 season, writers around the league will demand a ring or call them the biggest failure of an attempt at a champ.
pjiddy has the truth. Though some Bulls may not be at the peak value they were at last year with the team coming back to reality, they have the goods to pull of a deal. He went to HS there, and would dominate out East. Too many reasons for him not to be a Laker, but there is always the hope that teams will overvalue their own players (as Dallas with Dirk, back then you'd do it), and the hope that KG will say "Lakers or bust". |

Stupidity.
Shaq-Odom deal wasn't what it was.
It was Shaq - Odom, Butler and 30 million in lux tax savings. Not to mention, capspace for 2007.
Whatever way you want to spin it - it certainly wasn't Shaq for Odom.
Even it is just that - in 1-2 years - Odom will be a better player than a 35 year old Shaq.

You're losing your cool here, dude.
When I used the term "Shaq-Odom deal" I was merely referencing the primaries of the deal. When the deal went down, it wasn't like We traded Shaq for Brian Grant, Caron Butler, and...um, some other guy...um, what's his name? The dude who used to play for the Clippers. Larry? Lawrence? Oh, I remember - Lamar, Lamar Odom!
No, Odom was the prominent member of contingent from Miami. No one (at the time) considered Butler to be a better player, or even his equal. Grant was a throw-in simply to make the salaries match.
And thus, I don't feel the need to reference each and every component of the deal in an effort to numb your hyper-sensitivity to all less-than-positive references to Lamar Odom.
Take a midol. |

I hope LO has a breakthrough year like EB. I would like that even more for Kwame. Those two and a first round pick are what the Lakers have to show for Shaq. The trade may look much better is a couple of years. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate.
