Because we're playing a better team.

But that's not the point, take a star out of almost any team and they're suddenly bad. The only reason the Mavs get away with it is because Doncic is a star but not on a star salary

You are right about Luka's salary making things easier for Dallas, but AD is still lightyears better than Kristaps Porzingis. And some of the guys they're getting help from are cheap drafted talent, which is something we haven't managed well (lots of assets just given away)

An AD/Lebron tandem needed two major things, which identified before the trade even happened:

1. Shooting
2. Depth to withstand Lebron/AD absences

Rob addressed neither.

It might not seem like much now, but we're playing the "as long as they're healthy by playoffs" card. Why would they? What if they're pretty banged up and exhausted by the end of the season from having to carry such a weak team?

Yeah, but I mean...Are we really saying having to play @ Clippers isn't home court advantage?

Just wanted to check in. I am with you in spirit Lakernation. Merry Christmas, and a Happy Holiday season to my Laker kin. Perspective, family. As long as we have eachother, they cannot keep us down.

Clippers have lost tons of games when load managing Kawhi - no one really gets that pissed off over there. This is pretty much the same thing, assuming the AD injury isn't anything serious.

Kind of expected a loss without Lebron, but not blown out.

If one of them goes down our season is over.

Doesn’t really matter, if we play the clippers in the playoffs, it will be all Lakers home court.

I would think … Kobe would be loitering outside the locker room ready to call them soft

But seriously, Lebron's been carrying Cleveland his whole career (except for 4 years). AD has been carrying the Pelicans his whole career. They're used to it

Load managing Lebron and AD for the Christmas game will be the biggest slap in the face to the NBA and I’m hoping it happens.

Tonight the refs weren’t that bad like the Milwaukee and Indy game but still trash nonetheless.

Like for example that AD block that we had to burn our challenge to get it overturned. Not even counting the trash non call fouls

Didn’t force the shot when his move got countered, made the pass to open Dudley for the assist . Rondo would have heaved its up even if he was out of control.

To Rob's defense he and the Lakers had to wait for Kawhi and when all the FA were gone I thought he did well with what was left. Nevertheless your point still stands -- not sure what a bigger need is a scorer/creator or a player behind LBJ?

I saw many tic Tac fouls on the Lakers in the 3rd. Certainly not the reason for this lost, but it was frustrating

I wasn't trying to insult. He clearly has chops and moves. But the way he dribbles reminds me of Kyrie doing Uncle Drew
