Svi shooting 42% from threes for the Pistons. Legit volume too, 47-110.

But but but his arms....

I wonder what he would have shot here with limited minutes.

Only 17.7 minutes for the Pistons. So he's showing he's got it. He'll probably be a dependable vet down the line.

Glad he's doing well.
I thought he had some skill, but shot booty for us last year.

Say that Darren Collison chose to return/sign on Feb 10 (a few days after the trade deadline) - the Clippers would be able to pay him $956k (counting as $604k on their books) - the Lakers would have $1.75 mil to pay (Cousins disabled player exception). Relevance TBD

Monumental upgrade to say the least lol.. Not even fair to compare the two tbh.

Last season and the year before he shot 41% and 47% from 3 not to mention everything else he brings.

Short term fix kind of like Iggy would be but he would def. put us ahead of the Clippers imo. Especially considering we don't even have to give anything up to acquire him.

Having Darren & Kuzma come off the bench along with Howard so give the 2nd unit plenty of scoring.

I wonder if the Lakers would actually play that unit your mentioned, or would they stagger Lebron and AD like now to be sure either one is in at all times?

I'm very tempted to say I believe JR. Smith would be an upgrade over a lot of our guys.

PG.Collison / Bradley
SG.Green / Smith
SF.LeBron / KCP
PF.Davis / Kuzma
C.Mcgee / Howard

Our bench lost a 30 point lead bcuz they can't score.. Rondo is trash and holds the ball too long.

AD and LBJ were in for the vast majority of losing that 30 point lead.

Not for nothing, but DC mentioned both Lebron and Cousins in his retirement letter:

Quote:
I’m also appreciative of the great friendships that I have earned from my teammates, coaches, and front-office personnel that I will treasure for a lifetime. Players such as Victor Oladipo, Russell Westbrook, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James who had a major impact on me competing at the highest level. I either have a close relationship with those that I have mentioned or they inspired me to work harder.

What if Collison is pulling a Kawhi? making us miss on potential Trades for a PG and then signs with the Clippers.....

The more I read and hear about him the more excited I am to get him. I am always excited to get UCLA guys too. Seems like they have a good system there.

Collison is right on the cusp of one of the top backup PG / below average starting PG in the league. He would still be our best PG though.

You don't say no to a trade for a PG better than what we have to "wait" for DC. You do the trade and see about still signing DC.

That's a pretty kick ass unit compared to other teams off the bench.

Come home Darren!

Isn't he the player who retired to have more time for his religion.. I am hoping his character wouldn't allow him to do unto us what he would not want done unto him..

Basketball has been my life since I was a child. I could never imagine finding anything that brings me more joy than I get from playing the game. I receive so much joy from volunteering to help others and participate in a worldwide ministry. The joy I feel is unmatched.

With that being said, I have decided to retire from the NBA.

I can see Balmer trying something shady to sign DC for the sole purpose of keeping him from us.

Unless they have a role for him, it'd be stupid on Collison's part to do it.

We have a bigger role for him and are able to pay more. I'm hoping that is enough to convince him to sign with us.

Edit: I'm not sure if we can pay more

And you would be correct...

Per Woj:

Quote:
"The Lakers have been really looking for a secondary ball handler. He [Collison] is also another player that shoots the 3 at a high percentage rate. Part of the thinking in making sure you get Collison if you're the Clippers is to keep him away from the Lakers."

If he's coming back for the money, that's a substantial difference.
