A Tale of Two Halves... we played poorly first half, but somehow only down by 6. Made adjustments and the Rockets lineup of 4 SG and Capella couldn't keep up.

Also, Caruso played like garbage.

Caruso was a +15 and the Lakers only won by 9. If every Laker was a +15 in 18 minutes (proportionally), the Lakers would have won by 40. He had 6 rebounds in 18 minutes which isn't bad for a sg. Admittedly, he shot 0-5. Many people discount the +/- but when Caruso is playing, the Lakers seem to outscore their opponents. Caruso seems to consistently facilitate significant Lakers runs. I think this is a case in which the box score doesn't reflect a player's contributions.

And if every Laker went 0-5 we would have lost by 115. He played awful defense, couldn't hit a shot and had 2 turnovers. The change from Caruso guarding Westbrook to Kuz may have been the most important spark to victory.

His defense wasn't bad he was dealing with two aggressive former mvps in transition... It wasnt good defense but awful is an exaggeration.

Caruso is a stud role player, but you won't get much of a fair take on him. If Rondo has one or two possessions like Caruso had as a PG, everyone is focusing on that. Rondo was the dude that even challenged Kuzma to defend Westbrook. People don't see that little stuff vets can do, the right kind of team first vets. I hope we sign Collison (if he can still play) because we need more talent and options for Vogel. Some nights it could easily be Bradley this cold, Caruso off, Rondo is not a shot maker - Cook can be a liability on D. I think maybe in that scenario Vogel would slide KCP to point (Lebron being the point on O), In a playoff series if Bradley, Caruso are struggling, and we no Rondo is not a shot maker, having a guy like Collison would help us, assuming he is still the same player he was last season. In that scenrio, Frank can lean on Collison and KCP to create and make some shots at the "point" (they are basically two guards though, as Lebron is the point).

In the 18 minutes that Caruso was on the floor, the Lakers outscored the Rockets by 15 points. In the 30 minutes that Caruso was not on the floor, the Rockets outscored the Lakers by 6 points. Caruso was clearly doing something right.
