^^Came to say the same

Still feels unfathomable
Bron passes him on scoring list and he dies the next day...

Thich Nhat Hanh died a couple days ago too

Kobe Bryant, a friend of ours, God rest his soul.

We think we're going to live forever, we're not. We think we're going to play forever, we're not.

What can we do?
We can enjoy the moments we have.

Was thinking about this date these last few days. Will never forget where I was when I read the text from my sister.

Kobe.

Remembering Kobe Bryant on the second anniversary of his death

https://www.tmz.com/2022/01/26/lamar-odom-gifted-kobe-gigi-bryant-chain-anniversary-death/?adid=social-twa
Quote:
TMZ Sports has learned ... L.O. -- who played alongside Kobe from 2004-2011 and remained close friends with the Hall of Famer in retirement -- received the special tribute to the Mamba and Mambacita from his manager, Tonita B.

The finished product is a diamond chain and pendant featuring Kobe kissing Gigi on the head ... which was based off a famous picture of the two sitting courtside at a Laker game in 2019.

We're told the chain -- designed by Scoobie Da Jeweler -- is made of 25 carats of VS diamonds ... and the whole finished product is worth around $17,000.

The back of the piece features a special quote from Kobe ... which reads, "Rest at the end, not in the middle."

Still a serious ripple in The Force... tears still come up

Tony Robbins said something once about cheering for someone we see as Greater than ourselves.. "We see a part of ourselves in them." We are drawn to Kobe because Greatness is within each of us.. it is within everyone but he personified it for us.

Why share this here.. I just read one of the greatest pieces of ELI5 writing about "I am" and the power of Imagination. The Dhammapada says
"He who controls his mind I call a Charioteer the others are merely rein holders"
Kobe became The Black Mamba through using his mind to empower all his States/Goals and never doubting himself
Enjoy

To this day, I cannot get through an entire tribute without feeling the lump in my throat and the sting on the bridge of my nose.

Kobe will always be my goat. Not even close. I don't entertain debate.

I idolized Kobe's career but my admiration for bean grew a millions times larger when the world saw him in his most vulnerable fragile state of having failed as a family man. His redemption from that moment, his evolution as a girldad, is something I admire more than his career. That was his 6th ring.

Legendary mamba mentality.

Love ya Kobe.

Ah

I was wondering why I kept seeing all these posts about Kobe. I've kind of blanked this day out of my memory.

I'm still if I think about it too hard

RIP Kobe...

Not sure the team planned this and pretty sure Kobe wouldn't be happy with this but at the eve of Kobe's death, we are at 24 wins, 8th seed in the West and this is year 2 after they died.

Dammit, I still miss Kobe.

I first found and joined what was then called lakersground.com on the Rivals network shortly after Kobe joined the Lakers.

Not everyone was a Kobe fan back then, but over the years, he made a believer out of most.

I was lucky enough, fortunate enough to see him play both at the Forum and at Staples Center.

I hope everyone here who witnessed Kobe's play, whether at a game or on television, realized just how fortunate we are to have seen him.

From our Hillbilly Kobe -*not sure when it was created
Quote:
Infinity Hoodie
https://activedreamers.com/products/reverse-memorial-hoodie
This hoodie design highlights Kobe’s 5 NBA Championship trophies on the upper left of the design.
The flipped 8 represents Kobe’s infinite influence on the game of basketball.
The roman numeral “XX IV” inside the 8 represents Kobe’s jersey number 24.
If you look closely you will also see a basketball to the inside of the 8 to the left.
The snake going through the 8 represents the Mamba Mentality.
If you look on the left outside the 8 you will see a grapevine representing Kobe’s love for wine.
The roses surrounding the design represent giving Kobe his flowers for for his influence on the game.

Miss you Kobe. The world hasn't felt the same. I don't want to remember that day. I was begging to a higher power to not let it be true. But then the news kept getting worse. I want to live in an alternate universe where the pilot says "no I'm not doing this. You're going to miss the game. Your lives are more important". It's still hard for me to believe.
