J.A. Adande had a really good quote about Kobe on PTI today:
Quote:
"Kobe always bodied that element of LA, that nobody talks about, the hard working part. Yes, it's Hollywood, but stick around at the end of the movie, look at all the credits that go in there. Think about how early people had to get up and get to the set at 4-5 in the morning driving 2 hour commutes. That's the LA that really gravitated toward Kobe Bryant."
Never thought Jimmy Fallon would make me feel this way.
Kimmel also did a show today as a tribute to Kobe. No studio audience. And showing older interviews with Kobe. Respect. _________________ ππ π π π #18!!!

Okay, I thought I had together, but this one broke me again.
Knowing he was on daddy duty, and perished doing what a good dad would do...more than 81 pts, 5 titles, being a LakerLegend suiting up for just us for 20 years, being an Olympian, being a Oscar winner, being a HOFer...more than any of that, dude was just trying to be super dad! Makes me appreciate him even more...

That story Jimmy told about how they met is so amazing. I wonβt spoil it.
When he teared up and wasn't able to continue talking the water works started for me all over again _________________ βLife is too short. You have to keep it moving.β - Kobe

I dont think it's fair to compare Kobe to MLK, Malcom X or even JFK. However, I find myself wondering if, for many of us Laker fans, his death feels like how it may have felt for my parent's generation to lose John Lennon. Regardless of being the entertainment icon he was, like Lennon, it feels like his greatest impact was likely still ahead of him.
Based on the reaction I have seen in this very thread and elsewhere, cant help but feel this is true. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service
