Lakers are expected to give JR Smith an audition (as soon as next week) and remain favorites to sign Darren Collison if he elects to make a comeback to the NBA.

Troy. Then if they want a wing defender, who is next? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

League sources have long believed that Darren Collison's preference is the Lakers over the Clippers... it's reasonable to expect the Lakers to eventually sign Collison.

Cousins makes the most sense, but there are political reasons they might keep him. Daniels would probably be the next in line. |

Yup, they'd cut Daniels or Cook before Cousins imo. He's friends with AD and we may need him next year when Dwight bolts for more money. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Troy will be cut for Collison, that's easy
Next up, as much as it would hurt AD, would probably be Cousins if we want someone else like Williams/Green _________________ #18 next... |

if politics were not involved, I would cut Rondo without hesitation. Hell I'd cut him even if Collison was not coming. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

They won't cut Rondo because he has an option for next year. |

Realistically, if we cut Cousins, no one is going to claim him. We could just sign him next year. His years of service pertaining to his Bird's rights wouldn't be affected if he didn't join another team. |

If we are picking up Collison, I would let Cook go. Since there is no chance he would play because of his size. Collison, Rondo & Caruso all play point.
If we add JR Smith. Then Daniels can go. Since he can fill the same role with better size.
Dudley and DC looks safe to me, just because they have that fiery it we might need in the playoff. |

He's on a two way. Collison, Smith, or Williams don't qualify for that type of deal |

Daniels for Collison. Sorry Troy.
I really don't want JE, but if Marvin Williams is an option, that could be nice. Would have to be one of Cook, Boogie, or Dudley though. None of whom I'd be particularly happy to see go. |

I really dont get JR Smith... KCP and Caruso are clearly better than him. Heck I'd even rather have Daniels and Cook as end of bench guards to come in and provide 3 point shooting over him because they dont cause distractions. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

Yeah, I don't understand what the appeal of J.R. Smith is. Why does he keep being dragged into the league? |

Another size just to balance the roster, vet that played well with LBJ. Does not mean he plays, but he would be better than Daniels who is occupying the same roll. |

Isiah Thomas when he joins the clippers.
On a serious note, I wish it’s Rondo but probably going to be Daniels |

Cut Daniels for Collison. I don't want JR.
If Marvin Williams becomes available then I would have to make the move and let Boogie go. |

I actually think he can. I think the Lakers may surprise everyone with the announcement of Cousins in May. |

Cousins.
Doubt he returns in May/June and even more skeptical he could play meaningful mpg at playoff intensity even if he does.
Don't understand the "he is Davis' bff" argument.
Cousins doesn't have to leave the country. He can still hang out in the locker room, still rehab at the facility, and likely be able to sit behind the bench. Please correct me if the CBA would not allow or would limit his interaction with the team.
If it is important enough they can re-sign him as a free agent. Hopefully along with Davis. |
