Quote:
Kobe Bryant was one of eight finalists announced as candidates for enshrinement into the Basketball Hall of Fame later this year, a decision that came as absolutely no surprise in his first year of eligibility.

Quote:
Joining Bryant as first-time finalists for the Hall: 15-time All-Star Tim Duncan, fellow 15-time All-Star Kevin Garnett and 10-time WNBA All-Star and four-time Olympic gold medalist Tamika Catchings.

The other finalists have all been to this point previously: Baylor women’s coach Kim Mulkey, former Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich, five-time Division II women’s coach of the year Barbara Stevens of Bentley, and four-time national men’s college coach of the year Eddie Sutton.

Looking forward to the enshrinement

Chris Bosh MIGHT BE THE BIGGEst snub in the history of HOF, but I guess they can only take 3

That is one stacked HOF.

Kobe, Duncan and Garnett transcended an entire era of basketball.

Kobe was the face of the league from 2000-2010 and the greatest we've seen since MJ.

Garnett was the ferocious forward who changed the way we looked at how big men play overall.

Duncan played for the lowest TV rated franchise of all time.

Hardly. He wasn't good enough nor does he deserve to be voted in with the names in this class.

Nonetheless, he will get in eventually. Dominique Wilkins and James Worthy had to wait as well.

He would get in any other year, but if the HOF can only choose 3, then sucks for him

If the hall of fame is honoring David Stern, then this ceremony is a hard pass for me. Mike Wilbon? Mike Breen? I’d rather read Dreamshake’s post history.

They can take as many as they want. They inducted 5 NBA guys a couple of years ago.

He's already in twice (individually and as a member of '92 Dream Team).

You mean because they were on the Dream Team? They were put in a decade ago.

You mean the vote was unanimous?

The basketball hall doesn't reveal that.
