Has Kobe ever been booed at home?

LeBron was yesterday. Poor guy, such a young talent and they turn on him in a heartbeat as if they were good before him. He should just come to the Lakers where only the scrubs are booed.

The more the merrier. Boo him right into not signing that extension, into not signing anyone's offer sheet in '07. Boo him straight from the mistake by the lake to L.A., just like a latter day Ram.

I'm torn on the LBJ thing.

I like the guy as a player. I even generally like him as a personality.

But going back to MJ's years, there was a referee-bias, a media-bias
and a boatload of "fans" who didn't know jack about NBA hoops -bias
which made me sick of Jordan.

It all stemmed, at least largely, from the marketing phenomena he
became (which to this day is VASTLY unprecidented by any athelete in
any sport worldwide).

LBJ has been jocked SO hard since he came into the league.

It sucks, because I liked him when he came in.

I was always happy to tell all those who thought 'Melo would be better,
even before LBJ's first game - that I truly believed LBJ would be
significantly better than 'Melo.

I was on his side as much as I could be for a guy who's not on "my" team.

But now the LBJ-jocking has only continued, and it's drudging up the same
disdain I once held for Jordan.

It's hard to overhype a player as good as LeBron, yet somehow it's
happening.

As a result?

Well, I used to root for LBJ if they weren't playing the Lakers.

Now I root against Cavs' success, because I'm just sick of the hype.

I actually WANT to go on liking LeBron.

And I know I'll end up hating him if gets any more overhyped.

It's inexcusable for those fans to boo Lebron.. especially with that overall record.

This is strictly a "What have you done for me lately" league. Most fans dont seem to remember what a player or team has done in the past. If they are stinking up the joint in the here and now, they let them know. That's what happened last night in Clevland. I wonder if Lebron will remember those boo's when its time to sign that extension.

Doesn't anyone besides me remember that playoff game where Kobe missed the freethrows at the end and got booed merciliessly by people pretending to be Lakers fans AT HOME? I guess I'll try to go search out the details since no one seems to remember.

So far, I haven't been able to find the game I was referring to, but it was either in the playoffs of Kobe's first or second year with the team, and it involved a missed shoot or a pair of missed freethrows at the end of the game.

I DID find a reference to Kobe (and the rest of the team) being booed at Staples Center during the third game of the 2002 Western Conference Finals, when the Kings beat the Lakers 103-90 and took a 2-1 lead over the Lakers in the series. (That was when they began planning their victory parade through downtown Sacramento, remember?

I don't think Laker fans have ever booed Kobe specifically.

I can recall that Kobe was booed (and cheered) during the one game early in the 2003-2004 season when he had made the comments about Shaq to Jim Grey. He was rehabbing in the locker room during the early part of the game and when he did come out to the bench there was both boo's and cheers.
