Dion Waiters vs. JR Smith, whoever is left standing after 2 hours wins.

JR won a ring with LBJ. This roster spot is his to lose IMO.

J.R. Smith = won a Championship with LeBron and former Sixth Man of the Year. Dion Waiters = Played with LeBron and also a fellow Klutch client and former client of Rob Pelinka. Who’s gonna get the final roster spot?!

Agree with the others. JR gives us some oomf. He's tenacious on defense and will kill em on offense

Did you see JR in the games he played in 18-19? He was not good at all, barely an offensive killer

I have Dion over JR. Maybe if JR was 27 instead of 34.

Dion Waiters is a better fit for this team. JRs time is done, we have enough veterans on the team. If we need a one off 3 ptr Q Cook is better.

Dion can potentially break down the defense and get us some easy buckets for the bench. I think this guy has the potential to be better than Rondo. Just look at the All start game scoring battle he had with Lou Williams.

I think sometimes getting canned from a (bleep) situation is the best thing that can happen to a person. Lakers can be Dion redemption. I am counting on Lakers picking Dion

Waiters would seem to fill more of a need, I just have a feeling he ends up not playing at all come playoff time. JR I can at least see getting minutes.

Jr has been washed up on defense since 2017 and his offense since 2018. Seriously go look at the JR thread on the Cavs forum...in 2017 and 2018 cavs fans been hating him like how we hate rondo today

I do like JR's quick trigger on 3s and he has a lot of confidence. But yeah, he's 34 and not someone who can really contribute on defense or even dribble after his shot is contested.

exactly. imagine JR and DG on opposite corners - pick your poison. both have proven they can make big shots in the playoffs.

Pros for JR (vs Dion) is that:

- NBA Champion
- More Playoff experienced (130 games vs 18)
- Played more seasons with LeBron (4 seasons vs half a season)
- Higher 3-point % for his career

Cons

- hasn’t played at all this season
- 34 years old

——

Both are nutcases so... Honestly, I don’t know who’s the better fit. #TrustInPelinka #AndTheRambii

Tania, a local LA reporter, is reporting on this, and she didn't call it "impressive" like Shams reported on Dion?

What?

I'll easily take dion without question. JR is washed tf up and is def. not a "tenacious" defender anymore. Dion has potential to at least be somewhat decent and possibly fix a hole or two when needed. I'd love a third option obviously but between these two I take the dion gamble if everyone signs off on it after the workout.
